Remember the_donald started out as a meme sub that got taken over? I fell victim to astroturfing that election season. Thankfully it has made me more skeptical about online interactions now.

It's such a shame that we are making fun of a WW2 veteran instead of providing him the mental help he needs

The only backlash they listen to is the one to their wallets. Remember Netflix password crackdown backlash?

I didn't even know it was controversial. This is so stupid. Even for an expensive camera, you would still need those accessories to make the video. That doesn't mean you can't say you shot the video on a Red camera, for example.

btw, nice to see that blogs still exist. Slice of mind content reads better as a blog post than making text posts about it.

You marked all his comments in the federation bug issue off-topic, but none of them seem off topic and give you details which you quote and respond and even ask follow up questions for. How is it anything other than being petty to mark those comments off-topic?

I know a lot of parents are proud of their kids’ artwork but don’t want to share it because they don’t know if everybody else would find it great/cute/adorable/etc. This is a positive community where any artwork by kids is welcome with positive vibes. I hope it gets more people proudly showing off their kids’ artwork, because I think kids artwork is more than just a piece of art, it’s a window into a kid’s mind.

I don't see myself as a moderator when I visit the community from programming.dev, but when I visit it from a different instance, say lemmy.film, it's showing my name as a moderator.

In Tamil: சோத்துல உப்பு போட்டு தான தின்ற?

Translation: Don’t you add salt to your food?

Context: This is when somebody doesn’t react/listen/change no matter how much they are insulted. The other party asks if they add salt to their food, or if they only eat bland food, and thus have lost all emotions and have become as bland as their food.

It’s a bit difficult to explain, but the general belief is that food reflects your emotions and reactance and moods. Bland food - emotionless, spicy food - easy to anger, etc.

The only moderator of !personalfinance@lemmy.ml has not been very active over the past two months. !personalfinance@lemmy.ml is growing, and seeing more participation. The latest post from yesterday has 87 comments. We would need active moderators to help keep the place resourceful, civil, and friendly.

Apps like Memmy blur nsfw images, but when you tap on the image it opens it up in normal floating image viewer mode. When you swipe it up to close, it goes back to blur state again. Please implement something like that in Avelon.

I thought this way in the beginning, but the way gog never even built a Linux client while valve literally made Linux a viable gaming platform from proton to steam deck, I buy all my games from steam now.
