Musk is an ass, but this is a complex issue that goes way beyond Australia. Many govts are censoring content on social media within their countries. The last thing they need is precedent allowing them to remove videos from a platform entirely worldwide.
Where's the annoyance?
I'm a Discord-using LGBT ally, and I don't know anybody who uses this (nor had I heard about it until now). You may be overestimating it's reach / appeal.
Honestly I don't understand the problem here. Poverty is a class issue, not a race issue. Who cares what somebody's skin colour is if they need help?
Edit: Apparently calling out racism is controversial in US subs 🤷
Sorry not sorry
It's a fairly well known and reputable Singaporean newspaper, FWIW
lemmy: "israel clearly killed thousands of their own people as a false flag. And we've never actually seen the corpses."
Literally have not seen that take by anybody else except you
Sees title, checks modlog... like, wtf. You had a comment removed because you were cursing others. No ban, nothing, just a comment removal. Talk about an overreaction.
You're not really refuting the point though. It's not that 'Chinese people are untrustworthy'. It's 'Immigrants from China are vulnerable to blackmail and extortion by the CCP'.
While you're not wrong about that sentiment, it's misplaced in this context. Partyers and holidayers make for awful neighbours.
You could have read the article. It's based on technical skills, social situations. Not long term population growth.
Not that surprising when you think about it. Bullets operate on the principle of focusing force into an extremely small area, and armor piecing bullets just take that a step further by not deforming the moment they impact without adding any extra force. A heavy punch with the weight of an entire heavyweight behind it has so much more force than the few grams of mass a bullet has.
