They usually show up after I made a purchase. How many times do they expect me to be interested in buying this buy-it-for-life-product.

Nate Bargatzy has a great bit about that. He said "I already took care of that need, Amazon. You were there. Remember?". I tried to find it for you, but was unsuccessful.

Same here - it's constantly like, "Hey, remember those shoes you bought last week? Did you want to see 50 ads for the exact same pair?" Either that, or I get ads for stuff I would literally never buy that doesn't make any sense based on all the data they almost certainly have on me. Like, a weird amount of meat and baby products. Also, a lot of ads in Spanish even though my Spanish is mediocre at best, so that's nice for the practice, at least.

Jokes on us, no products are made to be one time purchases anymore. Buy it for life is dead in the commercial space. :(

USA, Japanese or German made hand tools, quality cookware, knives, union-made boots, mid to high-end audio equipment... There are still lots of goods that will last you a lifetime.

Union made boots

Nothing footwear lasts a lifetime if you're active enough. At best you get a Ship of Theseus situation. But they will last you longer.
