Why is Romania trying to look like a resort country; we all know if you're visiting, you're hoping for a misty foresty vibe with a chance of vampires.
You can also go to the Delta or spend a day on one of Europe's most crowded black sea beaches.
Do they still have leper colonies in the delta? Some years ago one were still functioning i'm sure

Those people show up for free. They're advertising to everyone else.
Literally my first thought. Like at the very least you’re going to watch some traditional Slavic dancing in a pub. But that font screams tropical
