The memo has been received for GOP talking-points.

All Republicans know the Project 2025 attention is disastrous for them and they're trying desperately to downplay and distance. JD Vance was on Meet the Press today and said identical bullshit.

Heritage Foundation can go fuck itself along with the GOP.

That's like saying Mein Kampf was just a book by the chancellor.

[-] frezik@midwest.social 13 points 4 months ago

That's a pretty apt description, too. Hitler laid down his entire plan on getting rid of Jews and invading the Soviet Union long before he was elected to any office. Tons of Serious People then lined up to say "nah, he was just joking, it'll be fine".

“It’s ok, because trump only authored the good parts!!”

[-] DarkDarkHouse@lemmy.sdf.org 34 points 4 months ago

So what are Trump’s policies then, Marco?

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 19 points 4 months ago

You're not supposed to ask those sort of questions!

But it's okay because the press won't.

[-] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Oh, I know that one! He plans to make America great again!

That's it I think.

He'll not say them when he's announced next week in Miami.

[-] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 29 points 4 months ago

The same place that wrote that Nazi Manafesto tells them what judges to appoint lmao.

God damn Little Marco thinks we all stupid as fuck.

[-] krashmo@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago

History says American voters are pretty fucking stupid so that seems like a winning bet for a scumbag to make.

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 26 points 4 months ago

Sure thing, donny dipshit!

[-] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 22 points 4 months ago

"Oh shit, you found that manifesto of things we, as republicans, want to do?

Shit shit shit.

I mean.

Don't be stupid! Thats just think tank stuff.. That we wrote with Trumps staff, Its totally not our agenda that we plan to do! And even if we did, the democrats would do worse! ITS THE DEMOCRATS! WOKE LIES!"

[-] jeffw@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

He’s auditioning for VP so hard rn

[-] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 22 points 4 months ago

It's not think tank stuff, instead, think tank stuff. Lots of tanks.

[-] tburkhol@lemmy.world 18 points 4 months ago

The Heritage Foundation, having successfully destroyed the federal court system, has turned its dark eye on the rest of the federal bureaucracy.

Having that Heritage Foundation list of judges made it super easy for GOP Presidents to pick new, ideologically pure judges. Having the new list of ideologically pure administrators makes a far more effective revolution than tanks.

[-] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 months ago

I would guess the tanks come next, after getting control of the executive.

[-] billiam0202@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

It was Leonard Leo and the Federalist Society who fucked our courts with unqualified ideologues. Different group, same treason.

[-] Clinicallydepressedpoochie@lemmy.world 18 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

If they are flat out denying it you know it's 100% the plan. They won't negotiate on it, so better to just avoid the topic entirely. Look at our ~~crunchwrap~~ supreme court justices, and how they flatly denied intent to do away with Roe. It's not that the plan isn't the plan, it's that no one gets to have any say in the plan so why bother. "The base" already has internalized lying as some sort of 3d chess shit so they won't ever call you on it. The rest will be pleasantly unsurprised; and the media will start talking about that time Obama wore a brown suit while eating brown mustard.

[-] crystalmerchant@lemmy.world 17 points 4 months ago

Right, because think tanks are notoriously benign and powerless

[-] LostWanderer@lemmynsfw.com 14 points 4 months ago

ROFL Yeah, uh-huh, we all know Rubio and company would love to make Project 2025 a reality. The media is too scared to report on this as they know it will lead to them being scorched off the face of this earth; provided the GOP do win big in elections this November! I’ll be voting aggressively blue to spite those fascists.

[-] billiam0202@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago

Uh, the media is reporting on it. That's why the GOP are trying to distance themselves from it. It's too widely known now for them to lie about its existence, so they're lying about its contents and their involvement in its creation.

[-] LostWanderer@lemmynsfw.com 6 points 4 months ago

Not enough, they need to go in harder with this; After all, we are at the edge of becoming a fascist nation. It puts a lot of people in danger and strips the few protections we have in place against corporate overlords. Every time they talk about Trump Project 2025 needs to be bold and in the face of everyone. That will get some clicks like nothing else. The more that orange swine squeals, the more delightful it will be for me. His whole ghoulish cast needs to be squealing and desperate, this feels like a very halfhearted attempt on their part. They aren't worried enough.

[-] Tugboater203@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtin!

[-] Suavevillain@lemmy.world 11 points 4 months ago

They are trying to find anyway to dismiss something they support. Dems need to get aggressive with informing the public about it.

[-] mosiacmango@lemm.ee 6 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Dems are being aggressive about it. Even the Whitehouse is talking about it actively. It's why it's in the news now.

[-] GoofSchmoofer@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago

And Roe v. Wade is settled law. /s

[-] frezik@midwest.social 8 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Good thing think tank stuff has never caused actual changes to US policy before.

[-] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Rubio is a magat. Dont believe him.

[-] yrmp@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Project for a New American Century - “Rebuilding America’s Defenses”, anyone?

[-] NutWrench@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

You can't call yourselves a "think tank" if all your ideas are stupid.

[-] ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk 1 points 4 months ago

We're just spitballing here! We probably won't overthrow democracy.
