Fake Skibidi Toilet fan, it should be Toilets vs Camera Men instead

[-] FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 78 points 2 days ago

Goddamnit. Dear world, some of us tried but thereā€™s too much bullshit. This is extremely depressing and I fear for all my friends who arenā€™t straight white ā€œregularā€ people.

What the fuck is wrong with people

For a moment there, I thought the younger people of America had in them the capacity to do the obvious righteous thing, and to banish the demons once and for all.
The younger people of America have shown what they are made of, and never again will I overestimate them.

[-] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

had a discussion with my peers about it. "I can finally buy a house!" they said. As that meme says, 'This is how democracy ends? with thunderous applause?'

I wish I could turn my brain off and just vote for trump like so many others around me. I wish it was that simple.

[-] yoshisaur@lemm.ee 13 points 2 days ago

we arenā€™t all like this!! iā€™m 19 and i voted for Harris.

[-] tootoughtoremember@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

As a high propensity voter, and former young person, I too remember being offended by this insinuation. However, the data on the 18-29 voting block shows generally lower turnout and has remained largely unchanged within my lifetime.

[-] shaserlark@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago

This is a horrible plot, interesting data but horrible visualization.

[-] tootoughtoremember@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

I don't disagree, but you'll have to take that up with the Pew Research Center. Unfortunately this is kinda their area of expertise, haha

[-] shaserlark@sh.itjust.works 2 points 9 hours ago

I will send them a letter stating that Iā€™m condemning this plot

[-] JusticeForPorygon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Seconded

Kinda hoping they come knocking soon. I'm sick of this shit.

[-] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 45 points 2 days ago

A big thanks to Lemmy.ml for helping make it happen

[-] PanArab@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago

You don't the Democrats bankrolling a genocide for a year and campaigning with the Cheneys had anything to do with it?

[-] GissaMittJobb@lemmy.ml 17 points 2 days ago

I think you're overestimating the influence of the auth-left on Lemmy - this is an extremely small place in the grand scheme of things, and while I think they had a truly shit take, it would be too generous to say that they even moved the needle.

[-] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

"Lemmy.ml is fine" says lemmy.ml user, more at 11.

[-] GissaMittJobb@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 day ago

Right, so I chose lemmy.ml in June 2023 right at the start of the exodus from Reddit as it appeared to be a "sensible default" at that point. I'm not even sure that lemmy.world was around at that point, it certainly did not appear to be the "sensible default" it appears to have turned into.

I'm not using the instance as any kind of political statement, this is just the account I use to interact with Lemmy as a network. I could certainly move off the instance, but I've found that filtering out some content makes the instance mostly usable for my purposes.

Feel free to check my post history as to whether I'm auth left or not, I'm certain you'll find that I'm not. Leaning more and more left as the days pass, to be sure, but with no love for authoritarianism.

[-] shaserlark@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Also iirc lemmy.ml doesnā€™t require an email address which is another plus. My account was also with ml initially. The only disadvantage of lemmy.ml is that if you go to all or local youā€™ll see all of that tankie BS.

True putin loving toilet comrades.

[-] photonic_sorcerer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

How many people actually voted third party? Looking at just the green party total votes, that can't have been enough to tip the election. Too many people stayed home, not enough were convinced by Harris' campaign.

[-] awwwyissss@lemm.ee -2 points 1 day ago

They stayed home partly because of Kremlin disinformation on social media, and Lemmy.ml is a great example.

[-] PanArab@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

The livestreamed genocide that Biden enabled and Harris defended is Kremlin disinformation?

[-] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 1 points 1 hour ago

Israel is committing genocide and the Kremlin used it to discourage people from voting for Harris.

[-] Zacpod@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago

Ya, good thing they stayed home. Gaza and Ukrain will thank them. (/s in case it's not blinding obv. Fuck everyone who didn't vote, yall are morons.)

Liberals will blame literally anything but themselves for not providing a clear alternative and hope.

[-] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 1 points 1 hour ago

I'm not a liberal.

[-] TwoBeeSan@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

All 50 thousand of the people/bots who post there?

[-] dingus@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

Tfw you toileted instead of skibidied. šŸ˜”

[-] nifty@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Tbh it doesnā€™t matter, anyone who believes in progressive ideals should continue to live that way and vote accordingly in the future. Itā€™s obvious from looking at Bidens and Harris votes that turnout was a huge issue this time around. I almost want to say maybe people were scared into staying home, which would make sense given some of the pre-election rhetoric

[-] Electric_Druid@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Sorry Jill, try in another 4 years

No way, toilet's promised to flush her.
