I stick to my state owned ISP

There's a world outside the US/European false dichotomy.

I've been with Fastmail since 2019 and you couldn't pay me to go elsewhere. 🤷‍♂️

Australian here happy with Runbox, from an european country that respects privacy, unlike the 5 eyes. Unfortunately Australia is not a good country to get a cloud service.

Not everyone wants their backdoors to be legally authorized.

[–] borusa@feddit.uk 9 points 12 hours ago

I've had a proton account since 2016 but be er really used it much. I am now using it as my main account and have mothballed Gmail but will eventually delete Google altogether.

Mailbox.org for me

I've migrated some stuff but lots still to update.

I'm on the lowest tier and only have the 3 aliases, I think it may be worth using multiple aliases from what I keep reading online, so may need to upgrade tier before I migrate more accounts.

Proton. Because i know how to read, and people had twisted the CEOs words completely beyond what was written. Reading ‘and’ comprehension folks. Try to build both skills.

He supports nazis. I don't care why.

That's not the right mindset, but he really did say positive things that were simply not true about Trump's party in the wake of current-ish events.

Imfomaniak for me, not sure if it was the best choice, but at least I made a move.

[–] 4shtonButcher@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 10 hours ago

I created an account with Tuta. But I haven't found time for the actual migration

[–] eldain@feddit.nl 5 points 14 hours ago

Mailbox. For the imap support.

[–] Nomad@infosec.pub 4 points 13 hours ago

I have gone one step further and started a an email provider. Hosted in Frankfurt, backup in Amsterdam.

Custom domain Webmail, IMAP, pop, all with TLS obviously Calendar, tasks, contacts sync all in one, all Foss solutions. Anti spam, anti virus

Haven't figured out how to sell that yet, or at what price, but I'm working on that. XD

Tuta has been great.

Proton choked down my chargeback after they said some unwarranted nice things about US republicans.

[–] mts711@lemm.ee 3 points 14 hours ago

I switched to Proton too

[–] lokiprime@lemm.ee 16 points 21 hours ago (3 children)

I'm very happy with Proton.

[–] mihaella@feddit.uk 4 points 16 hours ago

proton team too

[–] sikoraig@szmer.info 7 points 20 hours ago
[–] don@lemm.ee 5 points 20 hours ago

I am, as well.

[–] Kelsier@lemmy.world 12 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Switched to Tuta and bought a domain. It's been great so far. I can create an email alias with this domain for each service I use. Also have a proton free account but not sure yet what I will use it for (it was for testing before). I also created a disroot account since I really like what they are doing.

[–] davidebro@lemmy.ml 5 points 19 hours ago

I'm also using Tuta. Very user friendly. I also have a StartMail account. Kindly depending which one I want to keep using. Maybe Tuta for personal things and my StartMail mail address for subscriptions and business related.

I use posteo.de, and are very happy with it.

[–] baerd@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

I've been using it for a couple of years now, quite happy with it too.

[–] unsettlinglymoist@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

I switched to Posteo too and it's perfect for my needs.

[–] actaastron@reddthat.com 4 points 19 hours ago

posteo going well for me too!

[–] OtterFool@lemmy.world 6 points 18 hours ago

I switched to Proton a few days ago, can't complain for the moment!

Ive switched to Proton. Ofc only found out about their CEO after switching, but the have my trust for one. Also really enjoying their other services (password manager, VPN, Drive). Switched to a Duo subscription together with my brother. Quite content so far

Moved away from Proton since their CEO couldn't keep his mouth shut.

Migrated to migadu.com, works nicely.

Looking for a good option but I can't convince myself any are good enough to switch. I've created trial/free accounts for all the services I can find but the webmail just isn't as good.

[–] Blaze@feddit.nl 10 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

I've been using mailbox.org since a while. Reliable and 12€ per year, can't really complain. Easy domain name too

[–] teardownthewalls@lemm.ee 3 points 16 hours ago

Also a fan of mailbox having switched

[–] Otiz@sopuli.xyz 8 points 22 hours ago

Been in the proton ecosystem for 5 years, never leaving

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 8 points 22 hours ago

I moved to proton, then found out about their CEO (fuck Nazi apologists) and moved again to tuta. I've been very happy with their service. It's just email/calendar, so more like 'no issues to report'.

[–] asbach@feddit.org 8 points 22 hours ago

Switched my custom domain to mailbox.org from icloud

[–] Libb@jlai.lu 5 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (1 children)

Did not need to switch as I've been using my own domain names (French registrar with French and/or German hostings) since I created my first website... back when quite a few of you reading this today were not even born yet. No, that does not mean I'm that old. Absolutely not :p

I also have a proton and a tuta account (and @ mailbox.org one), just in case someone prefers a more privacy-friendly email than my non-encrypted domain emails, and since neither tuta or Proton are compatible when exchanging encrypted emails, I have both. That being said, I seldom use them: most people simply don't care about privacy.

I use(d to use) gmail for all crappy online stuff I don't care much about losing access to. I will probably end up getting rid of it entirely but, to me at least, even though I know it's possible to do it without a YT account, that would also mean quit watching YT, which is something I still appreciate doing.

I created my first website... back when quite a few of you reading this today were not even born yet.

Please tell me it had a visitor counter on the front page and blinkies in the footer?

On that note, Neocities is still alive and the websites there remind me of the walkman and pez dispenser I had, love it!
