You didn't seriously think China or Logitech was going to pay that tariff, did you? Be prepared for a LOT of stuff to cost more.

[–] primemagnus@lemmy.ca -1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Literally no one knows how tariffs work πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

[–] NutWrench@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

The way tariffs work is companies pass on the cost of those tariffs directly to consumers by raising their prices. THAT'S how tariffs work.

Nobody is getting "punished" by this except consumers.

[–] Flocklesscrow@lemm.ee 2 points 2 hours ago

Exactly. Tariffs are a "pass through cost."

So, yeah, most people know exactly how they work.

[–] primemagnus@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 hours ago

A gross oversimplification. Yay!

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 16 points 17 hours ago

Logitech are fucking dead to me after the shit they pulled with the harmony remotes.

Don't @ me about the age of the hardware, it's the practice they still do today: make hardware dependant on their services, then cripple them when they feel like it. You cannot trust them

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 17 hours ago

Maybe tariffs were just a way to convert what could have been corporate greed into Trumpian incompetence

[–] Vanilla_PuddinFudge@infosec.pub 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

My mouse is now worth 25% more?

Suck it, Bitcoin!

[–] Brumefey@sh.itjust.works 1 points 7 hours ago

Should have bought all the stock during the last Black Friday.

[–] MonkeyBrawler@lemm.ee 2 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Red dragon stuff is pretty ok, just saying.

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 2 points 3 hours ago

I got secret santa'd a Red Dragon mechanical Keyboard and ended up buying a matching mouse & speakers.

I recommend them to anyone who asks.

Thanks conservatives, non-voters, and 3rd party voters.

You're reaaaaaal smart. Give yourselves a pat on the back.

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Downvote for 3rd party.
Every party more is important as to not give any party full control.

[–] MonkeyBrawler@lemm.ee 3 points 19 hours ago

You're right, red vs blue isn't the real fight, and the people can't win until they start acting against the real threat to the people.

It's sad you're being downvoted. The two party system needs to go.

Waiting for a company to loudly raise their prices.

β€œYEEHAW!! Lord Trump is bravely losing to the Chinese so we’re passing that loss on to YOU!”

[–] Ulrich@feddit.org 10 points 1 day ago

If my company was directly impacted by Tariffs, you can bet your ass it would say "Trump Tariff surcharge" right on your invoice.

Canada price is up like the US price, unacceptable.

[–] PerogiBoi@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Because we’re physically attached to those fucking morons, our prices for everything will also go up. I hope every Canadian remembers this.

[–] frostythesnowman@lemmy.ca 4 points 21 hours ago

I’m definitely gonna be doing some price research across regions and pre/post Apr 2025 before buying anything from now on. I’m not purchasing product from companies who socializing the US tariff costs to other nations.

[–] DeathsEmbrace@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago

I hated Canada because of this relationship. I have been asking for a long time for Canada to get some backbone and not rely on the USA for everything. This is finally our time to shine.

[–] endeavor@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Logitech was already overpriced and poor quality.

[–] primemagnus@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago) (1 children)

The fact they kept selling their flagship mouse with usb micro was appalling. And I think the only reason they moved to usbc was because of the EU. For a $200 mouse πŸ™„

[–] endeavor@sopuli.xyz 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Wait till you discover their main racing wheel is a 25 year old design that they remove features from and raise the price with every re release. Logi is a shit company. There is 0 reason to buy any of their stuff.

[–] primemagnus@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 hours ago

Definitely profits first. I recall they hit the news because some manager said they would consider a mouse subscription service if it was possible.

They fully went on the embargo list after that one.

[–] Auzy@aussie.zone 7 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

I own 2 of their vertical mouses

There aren't really many alternatives readily available

The hardware has gotten a lot better, but they're really not targeting the high the market anyway

[–] endeavor@sopuli.xyz 2 points 14 hours ago

I also own two vertical mices, their most expensive ones. They are built like shit and ive had to replace switches multiple times. I moved to protoarc trackball for everything but gaming. I will be replacing my logi with keychron m5 as its "premium material" has completely disintegrated in like 5 years and its just nasty.

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 21 hours ago

The MX Master 2S fared better than one MX Master 3 and the 3S I got from an RMA...
The surface is already getting gummy.

[–] zipzoopaboop@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

My 2 g502 mice and 3 keyboards in use, one from 2004, beg to differ.

[–] MonkeyBrawler@lemm.ee 1 points 18 hours ago

Gonna call bullshit on that one. I've been using the G502 for years and I like the feel of it. I've gone through 3 and keep a spare in box for when it starts to double click. The X has been chugging for a couple of years now, but I've used a lot of mice, I really shouldn't have to spend $80 to get a mouse that lasts more than 6 months.

Still, they absolutely want to force people to a monthly fee.

[–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I still have my Logitech BT mouse from 2005. Still working great. Are their newer products bad?

[–] endeavor@sopuli.xyz 2 points 14 hours ago

Yeah, my old logi from pre 2010 are nice but now jts just low quality overpriced stuff with switched that constantly fail.

[–] MonkeyBrawler@lemm.ee 1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Google "Logitech mouse double clicking". If you don't get top of the line, good chance you'll be double clicking in 6 months of moderate use.

[–] Impleader@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I hear about this a lot, but I feel like it must be a problem with newer models. I have a G502 from 2016 (pre-logo change) that gets heavy office/gaming use 8-10 hours most days and still works perfectly. The metal scroll wheel is pretty corroded though.

[–] kipo@lemm.ee 1 points 4 hours ago

It's hit and miss. I was getting bad switches in Logitech mice back in 2005. The double-click problem has been around for a long time.

[–] DrPop@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I'm just glad i got my computer upgraded before all this tariff shit.

[–] primemagnus@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 hours ago

Same lol. Upgraded my TV, gaming PC in Dec/Jan. Even then it was a gong show.

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

That's what I did. Bought new processor, graphics card, monitor OLED wide-screen, all last year. I knew this shit was coming. These pieces will last me well past this orange fuck face.
