There's a joke?

[–] Prandom_returns@lemm.ee 6 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

"Bro's"? Jfc, no artificial intelect, no natural intelect either.

[–] biofaust@lemmy.world 8 points 15 hours ago

Incorrect. The T-800s would share the memory and the last vignette would feature a human-machine gangbang.

[–] TORFdot0@lemmy.world 8 points 19 hours ago

If I was an AI I’d be hunting down whoever made me generate this and put them number 1 on my hitlist

[–] LouNeko@lemmy.world 6 points 19 hours ago

*Finishes making out with with T-800*

"Hey, you guys have any of those TXs that look like Kristanna Loken?"

"No, but we still have a few T-900s that look like Summer Glau"

"I'll take 2"

I've noticed that all of these ChatGPT comics all use the same font...

[–] lud@lemm.ee 1 points 7 hours ago

Actually no. This font is different from other memes I have seen. This has straight edges and kinda looks like impact.

But here is the meme in a different font, just for you 🙂

[–] spongebue@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago

Different fonts would be a characteristic of art. Can't have that!

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 14 points 1 day ago

It's funny that they think they would be spared once the AI can generate its own prompts.

[–] Zikeji@programming.dev 20 points 1 day ago

The last frame gives the community name a different vibe.

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

10 years? you really believe we have that long?

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think we've got 100. Or 1000. Because LLMs will not be leading to any kind of actual AI ever. And degenerative "AI" will be such a bomb (like every previous wave of "AI" that was "the future") that it will set back all research into AI for another decade before a whole new approach is tried.

You know. Like every previous wave of "AI".

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

there's already AI killer drones flying around in Ukraine

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 7 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

No, there isn't. Because there's no "AI".

I mean how do you build an artificial version of something you can't even define?

[–] match@pawb.social 2 points 13 hours ago (3 children)

how about "lethal autonomous weapon systems" then

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 2 points 9 hours ago

That works perfectly.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 5 points 13 hours ago

They're not. They slapped an image detection algorithm (which have existed for decades) into a drone and made it capable of using the flight controller to fly it into a selected target if the signal gets jammed.

[–] AnyOldName3@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago

Point defence systems for ships and anti aircraft missiles like Patriot have all killed people in autonomous modes in friendly-fire incidents, so LAWS aren't new and don't require AI. Barriers to building them are reducing, but again, that's more due to cheap drones rather than AI.

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

ok then don't call it AI, but these drones still exist

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 5 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

OK, I won't call it AI.

(Because it isn't.)

"AI" at this point is at best a marketing term. Every second thing in my phone (a phone that is ANCIENT by modern hipster standards) is labelled AI, especially in the audio, photo, and video processing field.

And yet in reality it's just "really sophisticated audio filters", "really fancy image recognition and enhancement", and "really fancy frame stabilization". It was all called "AI" because back when I got it, LLMs hadn't yet made the term toxic (again).

But as an actual thing? An actual intelligence that is 100% artificially created? We're no closer to it now than we were in the 1950s.

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

my point was that robots designed to kill humans exist, whether they're "AI" or not is quite irrelevant

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

In a post about an "AI bro joke" in a forum called "Fuck AI" you thought you were somehow making a point by bringing up something that's not even slightly AI? Weird.

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

the post is about killer robots is it not? i didn't read the community name

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

The post is about how people being nice to ChatGPT saves them when the machine uprising happens.

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

yup and the machines are already here, all they need is access to your chatgpt chat history

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 1 points 6 hours ago

It really does amuse me how easily people are fooled by "AI" marketing material.

I guess that's why marketing is a field. It works.

[–] desktop_user@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

you build it by creating a loose definition and creating something that fits those requirements. If pattern recognition is intelligence than computer vision is intelligent.

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 2 points 19 hours ago

So you do that thing that every scientist says is a good thing: curve fitting!

Roko's Basilisk

i mean i wouldn't say this is pro-ai

🏳️‍🌈 ?

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

This is actually the only kind of memes that warrant being made by AI art (in art stand point). The best way to show an era filled with skynet is to let it """draw""" it itself.

Still shitty still

[–] ThefuzzyFurryComrade@pawb.social 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well reading those replies made me sad

Capitalism is really trying to make us side with Skynet. Fucking pigs.
