Huh. I kept reading the victim was killed in a "road rage incident" but you're saying he was the one who was apparently raging in the first place? That's even more uncomfortable.

apparently came toward him shouting "I'M GONNA BEAT YOUR ASS"

hence the family stressing what a good Christian he was

(Maybe don't shoot at people just because they're standing up though.)

This is so dystopian and gross. We really are losing our humanity.

Take heart, bud. There have always been grifters, this is just the newest iteration.

This is going to be grounds for an appeal which might reduce the sentence. I understand why people want to preserve their loved ones, but this isn't helping carry out justice.

What a makes this story even weirder was that the ai script apparently talked about forgiveness, but he still got a year more. Which doesnt sound very forgiving to me. Anyway it is going to start to be really fun and messed up when they make the AIs interactive. Esp when they go off script during cross examinations or something like that.

This is going to be grounds for an appeal which might reduce the sentence.

If that appeal succeeds, I suspect "AI victim testimonies" will become seen as a major legal liability, and the problem will (mostly) solve itself.

Imagine basing your appeal on the equivalent of a courtroom seance. This is the world we live in.

This is the plot of the Ace Attorney series
