Folks.

If you ever catch yourself describing how you want to torture someone to death, I want you to stop and take inventory of your priorities.

Look. I am not a pacifist. Some motherfuckers need to be removed from positions of power by any means necessary, up to and including violence.

That being said, should we not focus on restorative justice and rehabilitation? Why create unnecessary suffering in the process? The argument that things like the death penalty act as a deterrent doesn't seem to be borne out in the evidence. What good is served by torturing someone, even if they're the nastiest son of a bitch in existence?

It is important to make sure we don't let killing for sport seep into our ideology. Using violence against people is not something we should take pleasure in, let alone fantasize about. History has given us plenty of examples to draw from here; once you make a policy out of sadism, the group of people you use violence against only grows.

Also, porn is fine in moderation (like everything else) and can be made totally consensually, you terminally online freaks.

Something Vimes had learned as a young guard drifted up from memory. If you have to look along the shaft of an arrow from the wrong end, if a man has you entirely at his mercy, then hope like hell that man is an evil man. Because the evil like power, power over people, and they want to see you in fear. They want you to know you're going to die. So they'll talk. They'll gloat.

They'll watch you squirm. They'll put off the moment of murder like another man will put off a good cigar.

So hope like hell your captor is an evil man. A good man will kill you with hardly a word.

Weird TERF that is into transformers.

[–] MantisToboggon@lazysoci.al 27 points 1 week ago

well there you go. I have a strong sense for the perverse.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 112 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Right.. because women don't consume porn, right? Phew.

[–] JaymesRS@literature.cafe 96 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They also don't produce it either apparently.

[–] Mothra@mander.xyz 58 points 1 week ago (1 children)

OnlyFans is just propaganda. Just like Australia, it doesn't exist.

[–] Apepollo11@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

New Zealand literally doesn't exist on about half the world maps. It's like the map-makers get to the bottom right corner and go "ah, that's good enough".

Edit: I didn't realise, but there's even a Wikipedia page about the phenomenon:

Putting aside the psychotic torture fantasies of these unhinged weirdos, could I please give perspective?

I'm anti-pornography. I'm also a former sex worker. I don't think that no one should consume porn, but you need to realize how horrific the porn industry truly is. It's why I think people should consume amateur stuff, OF, and independent makers. Big name companies are abusive, full-stop. There are, of course, exceptions with smaller stuff, too, but if you knew what these women and girls AND many boys and men go through for the sake of porn, I hope you would be horrified and disgusted.

This is not a moralistic, prude, "Christian-viewpoint"-thing. Far from it! All I'm saying is that if most of y'all can be furious & boycott N×stlé for their human rights abuse, y'all should also look into ethical porn consumption.

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago

This is where I am at. Sex work was dehumanizing and traumatizing. I was recorded once during an assault. There’s a lot of problematic attitudes towards sex that make the industry damaging and dangerous.

It’s just obnoxious that loons like this are so common in anti-porn spaces.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't have any real disagreement, but I think the problem is capitalism. The abuses in sex work are more visceral, but capitalism will create horrors for a few pennies.

these people can't figure out why no one sits with them at lunch

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 67 points 1 week ago

what the fuck

[–] NotSteve_@lemmy.ca 16 points 1 week ago

This person’s definitely got some trauma she’s not dealing with properly

[–] carotte@lemmy.blahaj.zone 86 points 1 week ago (4 children)

there are many valid reasons to dislike porn and the industry around it, why are all anti-porn communities so fucking weird?

between this and nofap im not sure who i want to hang around with the least honestly (and anyways these spaces are almost always filled with transphobes)

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 56 points 1 week ago (1 children)

For real - the industry is horrific. I don’t feel comfortable with the real stuff; I don’t like not knowing if that person was treated fairly or paid what they were promised or consented to everything that happened. Zero puritanical aspect to it, zero issue with smut and drawn images.

It’s just frustrating how the weirdos are the ones most critical of the industry. The world would be better if all porn was stuff made by eager participants who were happy and paid well.

[–] kkj@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 1 week ago

Younger consumers seem to very disproportionately favor small studios and individual creators with actors who at least pretend to be enjoying themselves, so I think things are likely getting better, if maybe slowly.

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 40 points 1 week ago

Because it's Christian extremism or the same but laundered through fake feminism

This is written by people that want to stop you getting your jollies at watching people fucking, and get their jollies at watching people being dismembered.

One of these things is not like the other.

[–] LavaPlanet@lemm.ee 46 points 1 week ago

This is just rage bait.

[–] Flocklesscrow@lemm.ee 45 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Interesting that all the assumptions of torturing producers and consumers are geared toward men. As though women don't produce or consume porn.

[–] Ifera@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Or as if gay porn wasn't a thing. It is funny when you realize how anti-men people do mental gymnastics for this kind of stuff, yet on the same breath state that sex work is real work, when pointed at OF "models", or anything that is lucrative for women.

they have no clue what percentage of people are porn consumers, huh?

I mean... Castrating 75% of the population would certainly put a damper on our rapid population growth, which would be good for everything except humans.

[–] Draegur@lemm.ee 32 points 1 week ago (11 children)

Human population growth is already plateaued and in the most developed nations it's already net negative. in order to sustain break-even (human) population levels, there must be no fewer than 2.1 offspring born, on average, per {gestational reproductive caste specimen}.

The human population of South Korea's last reported birthrate is 0.78.
In japan, 1.26.
In the united states, 1.66.

There will be so few able bodied humans extant to perform basic upkeep in 20 years that fundamental infrastructural systems will not JUST be crumbling to dust from sheer neglect as they are now, but actively self-destructing from sustained systemic cascade failure.

One could argue that showing cock&ball torture on a livestream is also a form of porn.

[–] quack@lemmy.zip 41 points 1 week ago

These takes bother me a lot less when I remember that there is a very high chance that the person making them is literally 14.

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com 29 points 1 week ago (4 children)

I make porn

It features me, and when we get a chance (LDR), my fiancée

Our goal is to make erotic content that features regular (well, slightly unconventional admittedly...) people with regular bodies

We'd actually like to make stuff that is also educational

Whackos like this are deeply disturbed people

nobody could have stopped child me from finding porn. I discovered social engineering the old fashioned way just to acquire consistent internet access, and I did entering without breaking that would get an adult in trouble to access computers with nobody around in more than one place. I taught my parents how to use computers and I protected them from viruses. there was no stopping me.

Most of the good porn is amateur couples anyway. Wonder what their take on that would be.

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com 14 points 1 week ago

They're deeply unhealthy

They will find some problem, even if it's one they just made up

[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 23 points 1 week ago

Tumbler people need to touch grass apparently. That's the most 4chan thing I ever read from there

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So voluntary watching of porn bad, mandatory watching of torture videos good? Or is this satire?

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

This is not satire. Niiwa-Angel is a pretty active TERF, who also routinely posts about wanting to kill trans women.

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 20 points 1 week ago

These people are evil

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

Oh no, not porn! How dare a bunch of people have sex on camera! Just how dare they!

[–] pedz@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm sure Donald Trump never watched porn. He only hanged a bit with Epstein. And grabbed them by the pussy. And paid to sleep with a porn actress. But surely he never watched porn.

These are just the same type of extremists as the Christian fascists roaming free in the US right now. Gotta control people's naughty habits, we can't just leave people to have their fun, now can we?

It's the same type of people who claim that any penetration is automatically rape, doesn't matter if the girl likes it, wants it, it's rape, I tell you!

These people are insufferable

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I only consume drawn porn. IDGAF if the artists torment their own creations, and considering how often Tumblrinas put their blorbos in the horrors I think they are also fine with it.

This is where the Overton window has shifted to. We’re now debating whether modern capital punishment is too humane for porn producers.

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 16 points 1 week ago (3 children)

This is Tumblr. The overton window is about mainstream views.
