Challenged by the BBC about the attack of 7 October, Mr Marzouk claimed that Mohamed el-Deif, the leader of Hamas’s Qassam Brigades military wing, had ordered his men to spare civilians.

yeah I heavily doubt that last part. What Isreal is doing to civilians is cruel, unacceptable and should end immediately but let's not forget that the Hamas is exclusively targeting Israeli civilians and also is willingly accepting palestenian civilians as casualties...

They planned and trained storming houses for months, then sent fighters armed with grenades, knives and assault rifles to undefended purely civilian villages and a music festival.

"But don't hurt anyone, k?"

This is the best summary I could come up with:

A senior Hamas leader has refused to acknowledge that his group killed civilians in Israel, claiming only conscripts were targeted.

His claims are in stark contrast to the wealth of video evidence of Hamas men shooting unarmed adults and children.

Mr Marzouk, the group's deputy political leader, who is subject to an asset freeze in the UK under counter-terrorism regulations, was interviewed on Saturday in the Gulf.

Mr Marzouk recently travelled to Moscow to discuss eight Russian-Israeli dual citizens snatched on 7 October by Hamas, a proscribed terror organisation in many countries including the UK and US.

Challenged by the BBC about the attack of 7 October, Mr Marzouk claimed that Mohamed el-Deif, the leader of Hamas's Qassam Brigades military wing, had ordered his men to spare civilians.

Mr Marzouk is also listed as a specially designated global terrorist by the US Treasury Department, and is indicted on several charges of co-ordinating and financing Hamas activities.

The original article contains 663 words, the summary contains 156 words. Saved 76%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

This is a leader of one group of rebels. Multiple israeli settlers have confirmed that at least one group of Hamas fighters did exactly what this man is suggesting right after the 7 October aftack

https://youtu.be/rD7NI0tGbp8?si=LgHAREbj4dnXMpc4

Now should be made clear that not all the Hamas fighters are on one line about this, some just want revenge for the opression israel put them through. However since this was a huge undercover operation there is most likely a lot of secrecy going on. Big group discussions about the goal of the operation or even the operation itself were likely not discussed till the last moment and just passed by word of mouth.
