I'll probably take my sunglasses off inside because it's going to be hard to see.
If the inside is as bright as the outside, then I might be inclined to keep them on.

Depends
I wear mine inside but I also have those ones with speakers in them so I always take them when I'm speaking to people either way.
I take them off because I canβt see shit.
You should wear them at night so everyone knows how cool you are. For even extra cool points, you can smoke and do drugs.
I wear it to cover my bloodshot eyes.
Yes.
You let people see your eyes so you can talk and put them at ease. What are you, a cop in Alabama whose authoritah someone needs to respect?
I take 'em off. The inside of a building is glare-free enough.
I just slide βem up on top of my head if itβs like, more than 2 minutes but less than an hour, especially in the summer.
Depends how long I'm gonna be in there and how well I can see with them on. Well lit? In and out? They stay.
I have prescription sunglasses, and occasionally forget I'm wearing them. But I try not to wear them in a store.
I haven prescription sunglasses. Generally I donβt wear them inside, occasionally Iβll forget that I have them until after Iβm in the store though. My eyesight without glasses is terrible so I leave them on. Sorry if I look like an asshole but I would have trouble navigating my way and finding what I need without them.
Transition lenses are great. Try them for your next pair. They do lag a few seconds transitioning back to transparent when going indoors.
They kinda suck for driving though, because they don't turn dark inside a car.
I guess I never noticed. I always wear a ball cap when driving, always have before wearing glasses. Just another tool I use and have not given it much thought.
They take ~2 minutes to go from dark to light and most don't ever go perfectly clear so there is always a super slight tint.
They go dark super fast though.. like 10 seconds.
There are 2 types of people who wear sunglasses indoors: the blind, and assholes. - Larry David
I have photophobia, so I leave mine on. Though recently, I've started wearing blue blockers, and those also help with my light sensitivity.
Clip ons, I don't always remember they're on if it's bright out, but I usually take them off
Not because it's douchey, but because it's harder to see.
I wear clipons, because I need prescription glasses, and having to swap from prescription glasses to prescription sunglasses back and forth multiple times a day is an ADHD recipe for losing an expensive pair of glasses.
I take my clipons off indoors though, but that's mostly because it's really hard to see indoors with them on :P
Any advice for choosing clip ons? I'm in the same boat
Flip up ones, as long as you're not vain (which you aren't with clipons anyway), solve this problem nicely. Go for polarized, oleophobic too...
I feel like itβs fine. I donβt know, I would maybe stare an extra second at the person wearing sunglasses. But really, who cares? Do what feels comfortable for you. At least here in the States, we are way past anachronistic rules like taking your sunglasses off indoors.
Manners. Maketh. Man.
I think the stereotype is douchebag because people don't think about all the possible legit reasons. I wear them when I have a migraine, often even at home. You could also wear them because they're prescription and you forgot the other pair at home. Or you simply forgot you have them on in the first place. We shouldn't judge but people like to judge. And they mostly judge douchebag because maybe more people wear shades indoors as an effort to build a personality around their empty shell of a self.
I have see-through sunglasses, because they are specially made for my eyes. I canβt take them off inside because then i cant see well. But thats exactly why i opted for see-through glasses, so people can still see my eyes. They arenβt hidden :)
I believe that makes a difference to people, they just want to be able to see your eyes :)
I dunno if you know this but everyone has see- through sunglasses... otherwise they'd be called sunwalls. ;)
Damnit I was going to make the same joke.
Maybe they just wear the frames?
Maybe, but you notice how you used the word 'frames' there instead of 'sunglasses'? I bet if they were wearing empty frames they'd have said that, what with those two words meaning different things and all. :P
I like to wear them in places with fluorescent lighting, but some people really get uncomfortable with that. Sometimes I imagine they must be feeling the same thing I feel when I need to make eye contact during a long conversation
I mean I used to wear sunglasses at work at my desk because everything in the office was just too damned bright. Same with a restaurant job for about 2 hours of sunset when the light streamed in the windows.
Who cares what people think? Protect your eyes and do whatever you like when entering a store. As long as you can see fine, it doesnβt matter.
I have two of the same pair of glasses, one with normal clear prescription lenses, and the other with prescription lenses that are tinted brown and polarized. I often forget to switch them out because the sunglasses make everything look so damn good, but I carry them both with me and usually switch to my clear glasses if Iβm indoors for more than a minute. But if I pop into a gas station or something for 30 seconds then Iβm definitely not taking them off.
Depends on how long I'm inside, how dark the store is and how much of a fuck I give on a given day. I do think that most people think it's rude/douchey/etc., but I'm not convinced that I should care about that kind of moralizing of etiquette (though I do care, to various degrees, what people think of me).
It's somewhat harder to see inside with sunglasses, but I, too, wear prescription glasses so it's a bit of a hassle to change to normal glasses.
