Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

A crisis which his paramilitary troops had manufactured themselves in the streets. Yeah, it is pretty obvious to everyone what Trump is trying to do here. He attempted it in his previous presidency as well, but only hafl-assedly and late in his term. Everyone knew what he was trying to do back then as well.

This time he is definitely more determined and sure of himself, not least because he got the full support of his backers.

I don't think tramp knows much about anything at all, he just plays his role, but the blueprint they are "plagiarizing" from history books must be Stephen Miller's or Bannon's or some Heritage Foundation subgroup. But he may be vaguely aware of the power he could have if he ignores all rules (what a genius) and everyone is too afraid to stop him.

He's broken the rules all his life without suffering any consequence. Even if he doesn't realise on an intellectual level, he knows you can get away with anything if you're at a certain level of wealth just from experience.

Ok, he is stupid, but he has figured some things out and perfected ways to move in the world through trial and error with money and time.

It WILL happen again. And the average brain dead commuter will shrug, oh well both sides, and back to "a Very Special America's Got Talent."

Either way, anyone could have killed him. Let’s let that be a lesson.

yeah, about that...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_attempts_on_Adolf_Hitler I count 24 (the last being Stauffenberg in 1944)

Well, 2 down, 22 to go. That sounds like a lot of opportunities.

There were actually 3, there was a British autistic kid that tried it all the way back in 2019.

Not a reason not to try

It is starting to become a risk to go out to do anything without taking ID these days. A Kafkian nightmare...might as well staple it to your ear, like cattle :/

[–] knightly@pawb.social 3 points 2 days ago

Okay,,, hear me out...

Mandatory ear-tags (under a government that somehow isn't a fascist nightmare) would actually be super-helpful because my auditory processing is for shit and spoken names simply fall right out of my head. Also for kink reasons. XD

Nah, but seriously. It feels like it's only a matter of days 'til we hear about a Puerto Rican who got extraordinarily renditioned to El Salvador.

I doubt ICE would care if you showed them a US passport, let alone an ID

Like a dog.
