It just keeps getting worse and worse for disabled people

Speaking as a family of three who are permanently disabled with no relatives and no other support $200 a month ain’t gonna cut it. Our combined taxable income is $17k a year. Try living on that. Canada just needs to decide whether it’s gonna take care of It’s disabled or ship them off to the camps because living like this is not healthy or humane.

The newly created Canada Disability Benefit is a start, which is in addition to other benefits.

But as the article points out, the "gotcha!" with these benefits is that it pays out based on income, rather than your gross income (after medical expenses).

More work is always needed when it comes to supporting the disabled, so I'm optimistic that we can move in the right direction with only a minority government.
