Text: ICE agents are complaining that every time they go out wearing masks in unmasked cars with no uniforms or identification, protesters keep dumping pounds of glitter on them so that everyone can tell they're ICE for days afterwards.

Image below the text: a man in white shirt and black tie and glasses, with a raised hand, as if trying to get someone's attention.

Text on that image: who had "Glitter bombing the Gestapo" on their bingo card?

Arm yourselves. This isn’t a joke.

They want millions dead.

[–] iheartneopets@lemm.ee 80 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Do you know that the KKK would disperse & never come back when would-be victims armed themselves and shot at them? A big element in the civil rights movement was vets coming back from the world wars with combat experience and firing back on their oppressors. Those are stories that get lost in the pEaCefUL pRoTeST propaganda, but arming up and defending their communities was a huge piece of the black civil liberties movement.

Anyway, point is, turns out people who hide behind masks to commit terroristic acts are truly, deeply chickenshit. I'm willing to bet ICE would do the exact same thing as the KKK if fired back upon.

The only good Nazi is dead.

[–] P1k1e@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Not important cuz it's obvious what your saying but I feel like the second half of the statement is necessary. This kinda implies there was one good Nazi

The 2 go hand in hand. The peaceful element provides cover and public cause support for the more militant elements. They also make it harder to concentrate forces to deal with them.

In turn, the militant add teeth to the peaceful element.

An intelligent government acts early, before the militant elements can come to bear. But for best results both (technically all 3, including political) are required.

Another good example are the Irish troubles. The IRA, while prominent, couldn't "win". The marches, and Sinn Fein did.

The people in charge want to fill private prisons with a vulnerable population who have no recourse as they have little or no rights. It's a grift at the expense of human lives. They don't actually care about immigration, they're just using white supremisists as pawns to achieve their goals. They'll also use them to eliminate political opposition to avoid eventual consequences if anyone with a spine ever gets back in power.

First they came for immigrants ...

[–] PunkRockSportsFan@fanaticus.social 25 points 2 months ago (2 children)

This ends with millions dead. arm yourselves. Improve your family’s chance of survival

Cue glitter being declared a weapon of mass destruction.

[–] cybervseas@lemmy.world 34 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

More like weapon of mass fabulousness!

No, honey, I wasn’t at the strip club… I was, uh, an undercover ICE agent!

Your time has come

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 64 points 2 months ago (4 children)

Okay ,so if they covered in glitter, they're ICE. If not, they're kidnappers for god knows what. I think it's imperative people be able to distinguish their kidnappers, since the federal government is unable to do this.

[–] Marthirial@lemmy.world 32 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Shit! An ICE agent!

No honey, I am a stripper.

If you see an armed person with a mask, assume hostile intent. Call 911 and report masked people with guns.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 30 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I mean... yes but that's only going to slightly annoy. Sadly I think this is going to take actually using a "stand your ground" law correctly. IE how the hell can anyone argue against, I saw a gang of masked men with a gun coming towards me and I feared for my life.

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 25 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (3 children)

The dream is for trigger-happy cops to show up and start shooting at armed individuals in masks.

Teach both groups a lesson about how to approach citizens.

[–] itslilith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Reality is, cops are as, if not more, likely to shoot at you or help ICE kidnap you to a concentration camp

Is there an online database for naming and shaming them yet?

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 32 points 2 months ago

I’ve seen this link floating around:

Super Soakers and water balloons full of bright orange permanent dye.

[–] Schmeckinger@lemmy.world 28 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I wouldn't point anything vaguely gun shaped at them.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago (4 children)

Unmarked Vehicles masked men no uniforms no identification no badges? I think you should point a gun at them immediately. You have no way of knowing who they are and if they're about to murder you.

Garden sprayers would work but honestly they will probably shoot you the second something comes flying at them

Is this true? I haven’t seen articles or videos about it yet.

[–] rysiek@szmer.info 43 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Best I can tell it originated from a satire website. It is still hilarious.

This is a memes community. Take anything and everything posted here with a grain of salt. Or glitter.

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 23 points 2 months ago

Maybe this will give people some fabulous ideas.

Get a paintball gun with the paint balls filled with that permanent dye banks use for bank robbers.

[–] qyron@sopuli.xyz 14 points 2 months ago

Beet root boiling water is a very stubborn dye to wash off too.

While I applaud the idea, won't this land you an assault charge?

[–] HeadfullofSoup@kbin.earth 100 points 2 months ago (1 children)

No fighting fascism without risk

Each person have a different amount of risk they are willing to take but the important part is to fight

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 23 points 2 months ago

You complete me.

[–] rysiek@szmer.info 45 points 2 months ago

Do consult your lawyer before throwing glitter bombs at masked, not uniformed kidnappers that might or might not be ICE agents.

[–] DickFiasco@lemm.ee 35 points 2 months ago

You're probably getting the assault charge anyway for giving them mean looks; may as well get some glitter in there while you're at it.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 30 points 2 months ago

Only if you get caught

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Just because ice don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s wrong

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 11 points 2 months ago

Because ICE doesn't like it means it's so right.

[–] Sabata11792@ani.social 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

So, glitter bombs without glitter to avoid the charge?

That ICE agent's name? Albert Einstein.

[–] IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If I lived in an area where these thugs were operating and was concerned for my safety I’d consider carrying something like This long before I’d consider glitter. Let these thugs explain to family & friends why their faces look like blue/purple raccoon masks.

I actually love this.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

Me. I was saving actually doing it for like September (back to school sales would save me a fuckload on glitter) but I guess I wasn't creative enough and gotta think up something else.
