/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

My autistic brain hating transitions like that only amplifies this instinct lol

Ahh, Sr. Grafo.

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

There is a term for this. Status quo bias or something

[–] cattywampas@midwest.social 8 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Yeah this meme is me but getting into the shower.

[–] shadowedcross@sh.itjust.works 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Same, it's the transition that kills me. Being naked and often cold while waiting for the shower to get to temp, then being naked and cold while I dry myself off and get dressed. During, it is one of the few consistently relaxing things I have.

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 5 points 13 hours ago

You can keep your clothes on until the water temp is just right

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 9 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

This doesn’t change. My teenagers won’t get into the shower without bribery and then spend a half hour in there.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 14 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Wait
Was I supposed to outgrow this?

[–] Psythik@lemm.ee 6 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

You never outgrow it. You just learn to ignore the voice in your head that says "I don't wanna" to fucking everything.

[–] M137@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

Hah, your voice is weak, I wouldn't be able to ignore mine with an army to back me up.

[–] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago

And then you end up 10 minutes late for work

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 10 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Just don't ask what they're doing in there.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 6 points 17 hours ago

They're singing du hast?

[–] wizardbeard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 17 hours ago

I still spend 30 minutes as an adult when I can, except now it's just enjoying the warm and stretching. Extra time with the humidity helps my sinuses too.

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 6 points 20 hours ago

I think this is true for many people, adults included. It's the transition that's hard, not the being wet or being dry

Me when I'm told it's bathtime:

Also me when it's time to get out:

EDIT: I am not fun to visit.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

All kids do it. It's typical

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 11 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Totally. I just needed an excuse to showcase James "Tantrum" Kirk.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 3 points 18 hours ago

Well... then don't let me stop you! I got a good chuckle out of it
