If you have a cat in your house: Yes.

If you don't have a cat in your house: No.

If you have a hairless cat in your house: No.

[–] dumbass@quokk.au 15 points 3 days ago (3 children)

That's not a cat, that's an Eldritch horror.

[–] pixeltree@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I can never get over hairless cats' noodly little tails.

I can't get over the fact that's what my cat would look like if she lost a fight with a bottle of Nair.

Its a raw chicken 🀭

Still demands your soul, though.

[–] PyroNeurosis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That's just a thing common to all cats, though.

Because they’re Deep Ones.

(Even they need vacations…)

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 2 days ago

It's time to start brushing your cat.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

To some degree, yes. I often find them in my coffee, but to be fair, I also find my own stray hairs in there. πŸ˜…

If it's inside my mouth, it's because I just buried it in one of the cats. No regrets. Life ain't free. /s

I made the mistake of cuddling my cat today after doing glue down flooring all day. Now I have hair stuck to places where I didn’t quite get the glue off, which is a lot of places and I hate it.

Modern version of tar & feathers. Glue and cat hair. πŸ₯΄

Yeaaa my cat's fur is literally everywhere so every Sunday our family have to vacuum the house inside out 🫠

It helps cut it down if you vacuum at least 3 times a week. When there's not as much floating around there's just less of it to stick to everything. It's impossible to not have some of you have cats, though. We accept it because cats are worth it (and the toxo be plasmosising)

Yes. It was part of the deal your cat decided not to show you when you signed up for life with a cat.

⬛⬛⬛⬛It was a hidden claws in the contract...

Robot vacuum cleaners are a God sent. Runs every day.

Consider getting some antistatic dryer balls.

[–] wetbeardhairs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

... and putting the cat in the dryer?! You're awful!

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You're funny but clearly I mean as a way to remove cat hair, already detached from the animal, from clothes.

[–] PenguinMage@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Have you never left a dryer door open unattended? It will acquire a cat similar to a box...

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Then you, specifically you, should never operate a dryer, thanks.

[–] PenguinMage@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Did I say I closed it or left the cat in it?! Goddamn what kind of monster do you take me for... but they sure do love jumping in there...

[–] doc@fedia.io 9 points 3 days ago

No meal is complete without cat fur. Didn't you read the label before buying?

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yes, pretty sure it's normal. I have 4 cats, and i have to vacuum at least once in 2 days, which i get a robot vacuum for and it cut down a lot of chores. Then i have to brush my couch regularly, and clean my shirt with a lint roller, and occasionally brush my long haired cat. It still result with having hair all over my shirt and pant if i were to hug them like a baby. Bathing them will help for at least 3 to 4 days, but you can't bath a cat that often, so you're basically required to just live with it.

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I tried bathing my cat once and screamed as if she were at a butcher, and banged on the glass/plastic semi-transparent sliding doors in the bathtub. I didn't wanna get eaten alive so I let her out with barely a rinse in the shower. She now can sense the bathroom and will scream and struggle to get off if I try to carry her in there. I think she got Cat-PTSD and I don't think she has trusted me ever since... 🫠

Wonderful cat things...

[–] cheers_queers@lemmy.zip 6 points 3 days ago

i took our kitten to the vet after her rescue to dea with worms, now it's been a year and i'm the only one in the family she still doesnt trust lol

[–] MyNameIsRichard@lemmy.ml 9 points 3 days ago

It depends on the cat or cats. Some don't or barely shed, and others shed constantly. In that case, it's normal.

[–] Australis13@fedia.io 8 points 3 days ago

Yes, although regular brushing (esp. with a deshedder) and vacuuming helps a lot.

Cat hair is notorious for floating everywhere, so yes. That said, the heavy duty (extra-fluffy) dry Swiffer sweeper pads are really helpful if you have smooth floors. And a squeegee is effective to remove cat hair from fabric surfaces they sleep on like the sofa and plush mat. Knit clothes and staticky microfiber fabrics love cat hair, smooth woven cotton lets go of it more easily, if you're picking out an outfit for an important meeting.
