Of course it was for Donny. He gave Putin the Epstein files to hide away in Russia. And Donny got a back shot from daddy.

From the NY Times:

After three hours of talks, President Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia told reporters that they had made progress on unspecified issues, but they gave no details, took no questions, and most importantly failed to announce a cease-fire of any kind.

The meeting broke up several hours before scheduled, and far short of the six or seven hours of discussions that Mr. Putin’s aides said they expected for the talks. The fact that they took no questions made it clear they did not want to be pressed on details.

Sounds really productive

Doesn’t take a whole lot of time for Putin to coach him on what to do and say. If he falls out of line, the kompromat flows.

I don't even think it's blackmail. Like, maybe there is some, but the idiot is such a simp for dictators. He'd do all this with or without it.

Trump has money issues and Russia bailed him out in the late 90s/early 00s.

He had money issues. Then he ran for president again and got in bed with the crypto industry.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

All it takes is some good legislation and cryptocurrencies will be rendered worthless.

Trump's a bottom in denial. Putin hurts him and he loves Putin for it.

Sounds like the meeting was just long enough for Trump to receive his new orders.

They had to repeat them to him

Very productive for Putin's propaganda trip

My crazy theory on why they're so quiet.

Trump agreed to pull support from Ukraine. Probably some trade agreement with Russia.

Crazier theory. Trump agreed to help Russia win.

Their silence makes me very suspicious.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

Nothing crazy about it. They were discussing the carve-up of Ukraine and how much Trump will get as commission. Trump has never done anything to help Ukraine. His thumb is firmly on the Russian side of the scales. And Putin can't win without Trump throwing the US's weight into it on Russia's side.

I’m sure he doesn’t want to be in Alaska when releasing the ~~Epstein files~~ details.

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hes probably trying to figure out how to frame a real estate deal

[–] arrow74@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 day ago

Russian base in Alaska and US base in Russia prelude to us starting expansionist wars to take over the artic circle?

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It was a performance review meeting and Putin put Trump on a PIP

Whoa there. That's a damn lie. We all know these are two incredibly impotent guys.

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Very productive!

[–] Zugyuk@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

If they were so productive, perhaps a partial transcript will be released, or maybe a document focusing on the important bits, or if we're lucky the whole Epstein files

I’VE ALREADY GIVEN FOUR OBLASTS TO PUTIN. YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE HOW PRODUCTIVE I’VE BEEN. NOT LIKE SLEEPY JOE!

Snnnnnoooooorrreeee

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

I mean Putin probably has premature ejaculation, so I'm not sure what the surprise is here? They thought Trump would take time to wash his mouth or what?

Putey gave him a new toy

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Putin put Trump on a PIP to be reviewed in the next quarter
