They want a civil war. That’s what they want.

But if a civil war was given to them it would work to their benefit. There’s reason why they want one, the issue is that they just can’t start it out-right start it.

It’s clear no one is coming to save regular honest human beings.

It’s clear something sinister is happening in USA and spreading, and in the states it is unmanageable.

Realistically… no one is coming to save you, and you need to be careful who you put faith in, because chaos is now, and chaos beyond politics and sides.

We shouldn’t be feeling comfort in America, and the discomfort should be creating something solid for us to call a real foundation. But…the comforts we escape to… are practically feeding this cancerous growth.

This is each of our problem, now how can it fixed?

[–] FoxyFerengi@startrek.website 33 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

I don't know if it can be fixed. Nearly everyone I know irl is refusing to ~~watch~~ engage with the news and are instead burying their heads in sand, waiting till the next election. And these aren't like Facebook zombies, they're intelligent people with well developed critical thinking skills. The barrage of bad news made them shut everything out, and now they are shocked at the things that do slip through to them.

The friends that are planning to be safe spaces don't have a single clue about opsec. It's admirable they want to do that, but they've already been compromised and dont realize it

[–] peteyestee@feddit.org 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean even news and politics is basically completely compromised. I don't see any hope in clinging to the old ways anymore.

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Then let's create new ways, away from all this BS dog and pony show. The old ways lead right back to this, always.

[–] lemmysquezzy@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

I mean, less consumerism, to start.

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 16 points 1 week ago (2 children)

now how can it fixed?

Soon, very soon, MAGAS will begin to feel the effects. They are mean and violent. The orange TACO felon will turn against them because they don't matter a wit to him. The criminals in the white house will hire thousands at taxpayer expense to kill anyone who is not loyal to the crime boss. The plan has always been to have half the workers kill the other half. The way to fix this is to develop mutual interests with the other side. Here's how.

Fucking love Gary's Economics

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Gary's Economics is a kickass source of level-headed info.

I think first we need to see if there is a political solution. If Trump loses enough support or somehow we manage to have midterm elections that aren’t messed with too egregiously and swing to the democrats, then we could get there peacefully. Another possibility is Trump’s health fails and there isn’t a clear successor that is powerful enough to unite his base of support.

While we can hope for those two possibilities to give us a chance at not seeing total fascism in America, I do share your perspective. Things aren’t good and we are very likely in a time just before things get very bad. No one is going to save you. Maybe some meaningful, clear-eyed resistance organizes (in which case civil war is possible), but you should start making arrangements. Either get out now, or figure out a few plans for what you’d do if you had to quickly react to something like that.

Blue states need to stop paying federal taxes. I’m sick of propping up these worthless red welfare states.

I don't know the dirt on MS's governor, but I feel like now is a good time to remind people the current governor of Louisiana was sheriff deputy in a small town when a bunch of cocaine went missing from an evidence locker in the early 90s.

His roommate was arrested and Landry's name was signed on a warrant that allowed police to search the home and find the missing cocaine under the floor boards. The rumor has always been that they were both selling it, but Landry set him up to take the fall bc that's just the kind of person he's always been. Always willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead, no matter how bottom of the barrel.

Enjoy this weird ass commercial he made trying to spin his cocaine saga as an act of bravery: https://vimeo.com/134340258

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Louisiana has been a shit show since... yeah

Since Hurricane Katrina... They actually generally voted for Democratic governors before that.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Civil War 2.0 started in November of 2020.
And was supercharged on January 6, 2021.

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Jesus Christ! Was it really 2021 when that went down?! I kept thinking it was like a year or two at most. Time flies so friggen fast.

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 13 points 1 week ago

LOL. Shreveport Louisiana's crime makes DC look darn safe.

[–] Mediocre_Bard@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Crack down on what exactly?

[–] candyman337@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Damn, I got a get out of the south.

[–] AcidiclyBasicGlitch@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Look at D.C., you can run but you can't hide. MAGA means they'll just bring the south to you.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There's a reason why they're going to DC, and not NYC, Philly or Chicago.

You need to get out of the US.

[–] candyman337@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not entirely feasible for me right now

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Same. Sadly.

[–] don@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

Having spent quite a bit of transient time there and now just south of Canada, I heartily agree, if you’re able.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (3 children)

So... When do the blue states send their own national guards to oppose them?

[–] AcidiclyBasicGlitch@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Blue states are too fiscally responsible to waste their resources for show. They tend to spend state tax payer money on education and infrastructure.

Or as Governors Reeves and Landry would call it while they stuff their pockets with wads of cash, ignore existing laws, and create new laws that only benefit their friends and family "soshulism!"

[–] chocrates@piefed.world 7 points 1 week ago

It's so frustrating that the party to oppose fascism are corporate shills

[–] AntiBullyRanger@ani.social 3 points 1 week ago
[–] Bustedknuckles@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

JVL of the Bulwark had a "modest proposal" like this. Send in blue state nat guard, clarify the chain of command and whether Trump wants any Guard in DC or just red hat state guard

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Now, I'd like to see serious issues pop up in these states sending away their guards that would require their guards to respond to. Wouldn't that be just hilarious?

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

Louisiana is hurricane territory, innit?

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Fuck Louisiana. The whole state is a "Republican's paradise"

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

If we all start throwing sandwiches they can’t arrest us all.

I'm sure with the start of the school year, they are so excited to be activated, and have all their tuition money wasted.

[–] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 3 points 1 week ago

Yeah we sent troops to Louisiana in the 1860s, we can do it again if we need to.

[–] Psionicsickness@reddthat.com 1 points 1 week ago (2 children)

If only it was legal for an average citizen of DC to own a weapon to defend himself from an oppressive government.

Made their own bed.

[–] shiroininja@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Lmao no American is ever going to use a gun to fight the government. The 2A people are a joke.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Don't be so certain of that

[–] Psionicsickness@reddthat.com 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Why do you think that? What makes you so sure?

[–] shiroininja@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (7 children)

I’ve watched and watched and watched America grow less free for the 38 years I’ve been alive and nobody has done anything.
