Then they start talking about the capsule wardrobe for minimalistic living. Every season, throw away half and replace it with the latest fashion. In the end you still buy a lot.

My clothes fall apart before I throw them out, and those that don't will be used for gardening.

[–] monogram@feddit.nl 8 points 2 weeks ago

Buy the new desk lamp with minimalist design, don’t forget to throw out the old one.

[–] Luffy879@lemmy.ml 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Well, yes

Its always about throwing things out which you dont need. Until you need Them, at which point you buy them again.

Yes, I'm a PC hoarder... BUT do you know how hard it is to get parts for stuff nowadays? I can't even buy a 1501 (or which ever old Intel socket it was) motherboard anymore, and don't even get me started with OEM Dell or Acer stuff, one of their PCs fans is known to die after about 7 years, and another one is only availible trough eBay, for 40$

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

It’s ironic that it’s more expensive to build a smaller computer

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Less materials, more precision

[–] KoalaUnknown@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

All my homies hate ITX motherboard tax.

  • get rid of all your belongings.
  • realise you need belongings.
  • purchase new belongings.

WINNING

Buy less of small's less; less is more, but small less is less more than regular less

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

How come my wallet is more less then?

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Product is expensive and air is cheap. Can we sell them more air and less product?

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 weeks ago

Don't buy minimalist things, just don't buy things.

[–] altkey@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 weeks ago

One of a few memes I frequently see yet updoot every time. This one speaks to me in some intimate way.

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Minimalism is for people that can solve any problems with money. No tools. No rainy day supplies. No "just in case" in the back of a cabinet. Something breaks? Call a guy. Need 300 cup cakes? Catering.

It's a philosophy for the rich. Not a philosophy that makes you rich.

Big small hired biggie smalls to bigly small my parents' life and now they're deadly big dead, small things can become big things and people can die. Like my parents.

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

Minimalism is getting a handheld PC for gaming, using it as your "main" PC, and also attaching a SDR radio and use that for communications instead of a phone.

Also, you can watch movies on the small display to make Christopher Nolan very disappointed (I do watch youtube videos on my SteamDeck tho lol 😅)

Also can be used as a brick to hit someone trying to mug you.

Also, believe it or not, you can use that as the controls for a submarine to visit some place deep in the ocean!

[–] salty_chief@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Stuff is just stuff. We all leave this world without any of it.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Speak for yourself. When I go, I'm bringing this solid tungsten buttplug with me

[–] tpihkal@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

Tell that to Neil Armstrong.

[–] No_Eponym@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Minimalism is a scam created by capitalists to sell more poverty.

FTFY. This is some SelfAwarewolves shit.
