FBI Director Kash Patel said Tyler Robinson, the suspected killer of Charlie Kirk, wrote a note stating his intention to "take out" the influential conservative activist.

Patel, speaking to Fox & Friends on Monday, said the FBI had "forensic evidence" of the note, but that it had "since been destroyed."

They have a note but it's been destroyed. Yeah, nothing fishy about this BS at all and it goes without saying completely incompetent that they continue to leak half baked, incomplete investigative information.

So I'm supposed to scream for this guy's head based on a note the FBI found, but destroyed?

That's not how evidence works. Who is in charge over there? Oh yeah...

So they had that evidence, but they no longer have it, but "trust us" they had it and it was real?

As a (former?) Mormon, I hope he can appreciate the irony...

are we honestly supposed to believe anything coming out of the federal government? i mean i know i don't, but do other people who aren't maga morons actually take this shit seriously.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Our government is, literally, being run by Fox News hosts and podcasters.

That's not an exaggeration.

So no, I don't believe a fucking thing coming from the federal government right now because they don't even approach the realm of credibility because they don't even remotely have the qualifications for their jobs.

[–] LoafedBurrito@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's time to move on. Just like all the school shootings that are forgotten about in a couple days, the country needs to get over charlie since they care more about him than the children that are dying.

Time to focus on how the administration is ramping up efforts to take away our first amendment and arrest people for "hate speech" which has been proven by the supreme court to be protected MULTIPLE times.

[–] frenchfryenjoyer 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah I don't get it either. Innocent little kids are being killed in school shootings and the administration doesn't bat an eyelid but some right winger who says school shootings are "worth it" is shot and they lose their shit

[–] LoafedBurrito@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

I'm convinced it's because they are doing so poorly at their jobs that they need a media distraction and they will milk this for as long as they can.

Oh yeah, did anyone see the Fed reduced interest rates today because the trump administration is failing so much, they had to cut it to keep us from a recession?

Also the government budget is due to be voted on and the government is about to go into a shutdown because the GOP refuses to stop wasting money and they refuse to work with democrats in anyway, shape or form.

These issues are much more important than some dead fascist who got popular on youtube.

[–] myfunnyaccountname@lemmy.zip 21 points 2 days ago (2 children)

A right winger killed a right winger, at a right wing event, on a right wing university campus, in a right wing city with a right wing mayor, in a right wing state with a right wing mayor and their response is to blame the left. This country is beyond fucked. But the pedos will do anything to push us to total facism and protect the other pedos.

[–] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't think Robinson really fits neatly into a categorisation.

Its hard to know what reporting I've read is accurate, and which isn't, but he seems like a person with a complex story.

[–] myfunnyaccountname@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

With the way Trump and his fellow pedos are controlling and threatening the media, the vast majority of what is being released my the media is probably inaccurate at best.

"It was kept in the home of the suspect and his alleged transgender partner,"

Why keep mentioning the transgender thing from just an allegation about someone who had nothing to do with this? These fuckers know exactly what the fuck they're doing.

[–] Krono@lemmy.today 27 points 3 days ago

The governor finds a way to put "transgender" in every sentence, and at the same time he deliberately uses the wrong pronouns for this person.

They're doing it on purpose, and it is disgusting.

No, but he LEFT it. It was a note that was LEFT.

They read the note from golden plates inside a hat and then an angel took them to heaven.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 37 points 3 days ago (2 children)

he "left" a note?

large scale left wing conspiracy confirmed

We found a note where he said he did this in honor of his black transgender immigrant girlfriend named Marxina McWoke. But the dog ate it.

Shooter was a MAGAt from a MAGAt family. Left a note saying what he was going to do. So the 'government"'s response? Oh we gonna crack down on the left's violence and make it illegal to be a Democrat!

Fucking morons...

I read a ~~great thread on Bluesky earlier~~ detailing how many times Kash Patel may have completely botched this case by all the stupid things he's said on FOX today. Definitely worth a read!

*Edit to add ~~Skyview thread unroll link~~

*Edit #2: it was pointed out in the comment below that many folks in the thread I linked are calling into question the OOP's claims and professional background. After a brief view myself, there is at least one person within those comments whom I do believe when they say its "full of errors"
I'm leaving my original comment up for now for posterity sake, but I am more than willing to remove it if that would be more appropriate.

[–] ragebutt@lemmy.dbzer0.com 40 points 4 days ago (8 children)

It appears there are replies to this thread that call into question many of the things stated

it reeks of punditry - surface level knowledge and worst case scenarios presented with lots of confidence. fwiw the persons quoted qualifications have absolutely nothing to do with law. They are a “blockchain” and data science person who also does venture capital and angel investing, aka a classic “I don’t know when to stay in my fucking lane and think that because I made a shitload of money I must be a genius at everything ever” type

Patel, speaking to Fox & Friends on Monday, said the FBI had "forensic evidence" of the note, but that it had "since been destroyed."

So there was no note

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 64 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The note says that Biden personally asked him to do it. But it’s magically disappeared. There is not note. Stop asking about the note.

[–] wuffah@lemmy.world 63 points 4 days ago (7 children)

It’s been less than a WEEK, and they DESTROYED the NOTE??

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 34 points 4 days ago

In their defense, Charlie Kirk picked a bad time to be assassinated. It's luau week the FBI, and things can get very messy and flamey at the office.

With Trump's obsession with infiltrating every branch of the gov and putting in his lackeys I don't trust anything coming out of it at this point.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 20 points 3 days ago

This is pathetic even by tinpot dictatorship standards.

[–] s@piefed.world 56 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Judge: “Mr. Patel, what is your evidence that the accused committed this crime?”

Kash Patel: “Your Honor, it came to me in a dream.”

Judge: “Good enough for me. Guilty!”

I'm just kinda impressed that a political assassin has managed to follow the golden rule of having been arrested: shut the fuck up, repeat ad nauseum

The note probably also said that he was the one who messed with the 2020 elections so that Trump didn't win. And also the note said that he had planned all the wildfires that have hit USA recently.

In a few months he will probably also confess to spreading the Covid Virus in the US

Damn liberals. So cunning that they recruited a right wing nut job to shoot a right wing nut job.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Even if he were motivated by liberal views, his Conservative upbringing taught him to respond with a typical conservative solution - gun violence.

If he had been raised by liberals, he would have been protesting and writing stern emails, not shooting.

Liberal or not, conservatives taught him how to behave.

Either he's lying or someone is committing the crime destruction of evidence.

I'm sure they'll find it on hunter biden's laptop

It it just me or is there a rather important "Kash Patel says" missing from the headline?

And this right-wing policy of finding someone trans to mention in every report of a shooting, no matter how tangential or irrelevant their transness may be, just so the public can make a good solid mental association between trans people and dangerous violence, is absolutely disgusting.
