So close to realizing the quarterly outlook is not good, and then goes about 'fixing' it in the dumbest way ever

A win for investors?
How does treating investors like mushrooms constitute a win for investors?
^this
I am a tiny investor, not a pro, not really even that knowledgeable of an amateur. But for the few companies that I do have some investment in, yes actually I do keep an eye on how they are doing. Every quarter I can spend ~2 minutes checking if things look basically good and if things are going the way the management said.
When things are off, that's my opportunity to do a quick reality check whether this still is the best place for my money.
Reality checks. That's what Trump and Vance hate.
I’m willing to bet they’ll try to scrap even annual reporting next, and then ultimately shift to “release reports one week after each presidential election”
You know how doctors will tell you to stop picking at a scab, and maybe put a bandage on it to get you to stop picking at it so that your body can heal without interference? It's like that.
What bootlicking nonsense.
Great we will not release your statistics. This will show how good our economy actually is.
Did you ever hear the statement that, "China has a 50 to 100 year view on management of a company", whereas we run our companies on a quarterly basis??? Not good!
So trump copies ... Chinas behavior?
Accidentally good. Fuck?
Look... I'm more on board with this than not... but at this point betting on this administration to cook the goose that lays the golden eggs is the best bet. Sure... a goose dinner is nice, but in the process legit destroys what made the goose amazing in the process.
IE: Don't worry, they'll fuck it up somehow
I suppose? But it's also just dicking around at the edges to make a few more big companies move to the US (when every other policy is making that seem like a terrible idea) and to save financial departments a few bucks. Semi-annual reports will not significantly alter corporate incentives.
Once again Trump is right for the wrong reasons. Capitalism and it's endless pursuit of more profits every quarter is definitely not a good thing in the long run but delaying reports is only going to drag the problem out longer.
Won’t anybody think of the shareholders?
Easy response, sell all stocks for any company that cuts down on their reporting. Buy stocks for companies that ramp up reporting in response.
