I just can't hide it

[-] squiblet@kbin.social 14 points 9 months ago

The confusion in his eyes that says it all... Mike's lost control again...

Johnson losing control of the House is like me losing a million dollars: can't lose what you never had.

I fully support the leaking of Star Trek memes into other Lemmy communities

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 61 points 9 months ago

Johnson should have been been a bit more humble. it was a Speakership. should have gone with being Aron instead of Moses.

clearly god is punishing him for his hubris.

Why the /s? He said God called him to serve. And now it looks like God is telling to sit his ass back down.

Don't tease me with a good time.

“It’s violence against the speaker,” Rep. Thomas Massie, a Kentucky Republican, told NOTUS of discharge petitions.

What a fucking drama queen. Violence is when we can't obstruct on behalf of Trump and Putin!

[-] athos77@kbin.social 28 points 9 months ago

In order to lose it, he'd've had to had control in the first place.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 26 points 9 months ago

It would be a shame if this christofascist wound up with egg on his face. Can I please be there to taunt him?

[-] Weirdmusic@lemmy.world 23 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Well, the anti democratic swill that are the Rethuglican congress members are showing their true colours as Ruzzian collaborators.

[-] KillingTimeItself@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 9 months ago

why did anybody everything wordplay in politics was a good idea, i genuinely can't stand it. You wanna make shitty jokes be my guest, do something other than mashing two words together because funny.

It looks stupid when republicans do it, it looks dumb when liberals do it. It's not very clever, it doesn't aid at all in making ANY point. I don't even see the humor.

maybe i'm just too disillusioned for this shit.

[-] marx2k@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

No, you're right. It's dumb.

[-] KillingTimeItself@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

it really is, it's so obnoxious i genuinely can't stand it.

I think i would actually respect someone less if they did it infront of me IRL.

[-] shalafi@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

I try to downvote ever post where I see that crap. This name calling shit is childish and serves no purpose. Hell, it maybe makes things worse.

People on the name calling side, "Yeah! We scored one!"

People on the other side, "Fucking children."

[-] KillingTimeItself@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

literally this.

I am not the kind of person to tell on people cuz i just don't give a shit. But genuinely, i think this should be a firable offense.

I genuinely think an employer presented this post, should reconsider said employment.

[-] KillingTimeItself@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 9 months ago

god i fucking love the house. I really fucking hate it, but sometimes i really fucking love it.

It's an abusive relationship that i should really get figured out...

[-] Hominine@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago
[-] KillingTimeItself@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 9 months ago

one might argue it starts in the hundreds, considering house members are probably already a part of this.

[-] roguetrick@kbin.social 9 points 9 months ago

He'll let a bill come to the floor before he lets a discharge petition get passed. That might piss off some of the hardliners, but showing that nobody's running the show would be worse.

[-] JaymesRS@literature.cafe 6 points 9 months ago

OH NO!!!!

Anyway…

[-] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

This implies he had control in the first place
