They know that this strategy won’t work but they continue anyways. They know they can’t restock their ammunition but they still fire them. What am I missing here?

I did write here two months ago or more that the US has no path to victory or a definition of what victory means. But I thought it would take much longer than this. It took much longer for US defeat in Afghanistan to be apparent. Unless you start counting from when the US first started fighting Ansar Allah in 2004.

Fun fact: it was the USSR that helped get South Yemen’s missile program started. Later this technology was transferred to Yemen after reunification. So it isn’t just Iran supplying them.

I imagine it's a similar situation to Ukraine, US got in over their head and now they don't have an exit strategy. If they just pull out now then they look really weak, and this is especially painful in an election year. On the other hand, they don't have a practical way to escalate. Putting boots on the ground would require declaring an actual war and getting congressional approval. So, I expect they're just going to keep doing what they're doing and try to portray it as some sort of a success.

Meanwhile, painting all resistance against US as Iran proxies seems to be neocons laying the ground for a war with Iran that they're salivating for.

Lmao man they would actually look a lot better if they just admitted their mistakes and pulled out, if they think pulling out makes them look weak then how would continuing to stay and waste resources and not even be able to do anything about it make them look?

They wouldn't dare. Look at the absolute heyday they had when Russia fell-back to defensive positions after a couple of months into the Ukraine SMO. They made it sound like Russia was about to lose with their tail between their legs for months afterward, even though it was obviously clearly the best thing they could have done and allowed them to carry-on indefinitely instead of losing half their troops.

My own mind changed a lot since the beginning of this conflict. It unveiled so many things for me.

In the beginning I though that Russia's intelligence had failed Putin. Seeing the dusty equipment on the trains, the western unity in Ukraine defense, and the sanctions, I really thought the decision making was off.

I had no idea about 2014, or the ideologies involved. My own world view wasn't clear either, I probably had an instinctive understanding that I wasn't bonjoursie, but not in clear enough terms to seek action from it.

Zelenski was everywhere, every tech company hoisted a blue yellow flag on their homepages, Russians were denied entry in competition. Which... Don't really contribute to much on the war effort, other than propaganda.

But propaganda eventually bends to reality. Only one line of analysis could explain the whole shit altogether, and it was completely ignored by western media.

Thank you comrades for lighting the way. Thank you independent media.

Never forget that the bourgeoisie is being paid a lot for those resources and I doubt the politicians that serve them and also take some profit from this are in any hurry to stop.

They can't restock their ammunition sufficiently, because their MIC didn't invest in surge capacity. But given enough time... eventually, they will restock (probably). So whatever they use, they might not replace immediately, but certainly they can add it to the budget.... I imagine that's the motives (alongside typical AmeriKKKan sadism)

According to the article, some of the ships targets were carrying supplies to Yemen. Was this some kind of mistake? Is there missing context? If not, what is the point?

I mean, it does cite a state department and pentagon official as a source (lowest quality source imaginable), but provides no context. Literally the whole article is written as if Ansar Allah is just doing stuff because ... reasons?

Even their publicly stated goal of ending the war in Gaza is treated as a fringe opinion amongst US officials. "Some senior officials concede it is entirely possible the Houthis will stop if Israel does" --> Like wtf do you think the purpose of these attacks even is?

As for ships carrying supplies to Yemen, there are 2 cited examples in the article. One was a ship heading to aden, which this article claims that Ansar Allah said was a mistake. The ship arrived at port and no crew was injured. Important context that CNN leaves out.

The other was the Rubymar, which is owned by a company golden adventure shipping. This does not appear to be a mistake, as it is a UK company. It was also heading for a port in Bulgaria

Doing this research took me literally just 10 minutes. CNN is a rag.

There's a particularly funny bit in the article where it acknowledges that even some people in the admin acknowledge that support for the genocide is the reason Yemen is interdicting shipping. Also acknowledging that the attacks did indeed stop during the 7 day ceasefire. But then it just proceeds to dismiss all that. Absolute clown shit reporting.
