Ooh, this looks cute.

I’m hoping this’ll be funny/wholesome like an anime that hits the same vibes as the movie: “While you were sleeping”

Umm… weird question. I guess I still don’t “get” the fediverse. How do I click on the link to view and join your community?

It isn’t marked up by a link in my Memmy app and I’m not sure what to do with it.

That’s a good question. I don’t know.

Just speculating, the upvote/downvote does help a user know what is expected behavior and some understanding to build from.

It also provides a rich incentive to post because “number go up” feels good.

I’d love to know YouTube’s data on hiding the dislike button. It wasn’t great for viewers, but it may have had an effect on creator satisfaction. But I don’t know for sure.

I tried all kinds of things to get Stardew Valley on my Mac to work with an XBox controller, and just gave up eventually.

The XBox controller works fine for everything else, just Stardew Valley doesn’t work with it :/

Gonna follow this thread in case you find someone with a solution

This sounds likely. I’d have to imagine at that stage of life the very concept of learning how to learn something for the first time is monumental.

What they’re learning isn’t as important as learning something for the first time. Since animals are so interesting, it sounds like a reasonable thing to start with.

I imagine it also has to do with establishing and reinforcing the concept that “things make noises and so can you”

There are few things that boost inspiration and innovation quite like a competent competitor.

I still don’t feel comfortable here. Lemmy feels too much like an echochamber of the same opinions. The lack of diversity makes me feel more comfortable on tumblr than Lemmy at the moment.

It’s frustrating when I do need to check Reddit for any niche things. I love forums, but find chatrooms like Discord anxiety inducing. Sometimes the only forum for a niche topic is a subreddit :/

I just can’t stop playing Cobalt Core. And Baldurs Gate 3 is sitting right there

Is open source catching up still? Or have the goalposts moved too much since then?

Just a few more plot points away to re-enacting Burrow’s End in real life.

This is such good news!

I would love many more buildings like this, and maybe this will be a good template for future efforts

The folks over at The Accidental Tech podcast are the first that comes to mind. But that’s less learning and more week-to-week discussions.

As far as tutorials go, check out all the things from David Sparks - MacSparky.com. In addition to all his field guides (those do cost money), there’s his podcasts like Automators, and Mac Power Users.
