Exactly. That’s like saying firing a gun into crowded theater and killing people is “involuntary manslaughter.”

Anarchy is the rejection of unjust hierarchies, not all hierarchies. Certainly a parent would have authority over a small child insofar as that’s reasonably justified. Similarly, some expert may be elected to a position where they’re democratically authorized to make specific decisions so we don’t have to vote a thousand times a day about specialized matters.

On the whole, anarchism just means a lot more democracy.

Why are you obsessed with the color of people’s skin and indifferent to their humanity? Should children be beaten, abused, mutilated, sold off to be married just because their parents are part of some abrahamic cult?

Daily reminder that religion is a monstrous evil.

No offense, but Intel has been shit for a decade. Far too much power draw for marginal gains. Their whole schtick is terrible for the planet and comically anti-innovation. Why would anyone have an Intel processor? It’s totally irrational.

“Only someone running for president matters, not the actual president.”

Wat

[-] yeahiknow3@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 month ago

There’s a shitload of time. We’ve been conditioned to think it takes 2 years to run a presidential campaign. Nonsense.

Yeah, if there’s indoctrination it’s run the other way for like 1000 years.

Daily reminder that religion is a monstrous evil.

Do people think that forcing children to give birth isn’t violence? That having the bank seize your house isn’t violence?

Imagine the privileged delusion that you’re above all that — that you’ve transcended the zombie horde of apocalyptic subhumanity clutching at your ankles, literally trying to rob your children, to poison them, to end all life on earth. The treacherous religious maniacs, the ignoramuses, the money-hungry, fashion-obsessed, sports-car-maniacal narcissists who would eat a puppy alive for a Rolex. That these orc-like creatures aren’t here to torment and torture and pillage.

But sure. Let’s not stoop to their level by struggling too much as they eat us alive.

Psychopathy is shockingly common. Technically, only 5% of people are full-blown psychopaths, but like all brain disorders it’s a spectrum, and everyone falls somewhere on that spectrum. At least 30% of the population exhibits sub-diagnostic psychopathic traits, such as an indifference to lying or a lack of moral compunction.

What people don’t understand about psychopathy is that it presents as an indifference (or an unresponsiveness) to empirical and normative facts. That is why psychopaths just do whatever feels good (which might include tormenting others), why they might be obsessed with money or power other pleasure-oriented goals.

So to be clear, unless you’re playing golf at the hottest location on earth, you must stay home? Solid reasoning.

If a company makes 10 billion dollars, they should be able to hire more people or pay everyone more. Instead that money is siphoned by unemployed bums who have absolutely nothing to do with the company - the “investors.”

If this system weren’t already in place, we would consider it completely comical.

Wait, isn’t this what everyone wanted?? Why the fuck have we been poisoning the atmosphere for the last century if not to enjoy more category 5 hurricanes? I’m so confused.
