I really don't understand why so many people like Signal. It's an utter piece of shit in terms of UX, has questionable security practices, harvests phone numbers, and it's located on a central server in US.

That's right, Europeans will finally get to enjoy the same kinds of freedoms US workers have been enjoying.

About sums it up, although the big problem they have is that Russia's not alone. They'd be basically taking on the BRICS now, and the west is simply in no position to do that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the blob is on board with this given that Vicky just got dumped. Ukraine is going to end in disaster for NATO, and US sees China as the main rival.

So, it makes sense to pivot to Asia and leave Europe holding the bag with Russia. Military industry will still be selling weapons to Europe, but US will no longer have any actual commitments.

EU already put itself in a position where they're entirely dependent on US militarily and economically with or without NATO.

I particularly love when libs start completely unironically saying how the government is afraid of the public in China and that's why they're forced to keep improving living conditions. They don't understand that the fact that the government sees itself being accountable to the public is what makes it democratic. These people don't understand the fundamental premise of what democracy is, they just think of it as a purely procedural thing.

Exactly, it's lack of weapons, ammunition, and manpower that's the real problem. That's the material reality of the war, and there's no way for the west to print their way out of it.

It's worth noting that this didn't just happen organically. The democrats in US cultivated the whole Russiagate conspiracy theory to explain why Clinton lost to Trump back in 2016. Associating Russia with Trump was a brilliant move because Trump is so deeply hated by the democrat base, and this hatred was easily transplanted onto Russia by association. Thanks to the whole Mueller report, we now know that this was complete nonsense. Jacobin did some good reporting on it, but this didn't really get much coverage in the mainstream.

Exactly, the whole world now sees that the west is run by petulant children.

Exactly, simple, cheap, and reliable weapons is what it ultimately comes down to. Most people don't seem to understand that war are about logistics first and foremost. In the end, it comes down to the ability of one side to outproduce the other. If you're making complex and expensive weapons that can't be easily maintained or replaced then as soon as your initial stocks run down, you've basically lost.

Lack of diversity in the oppressing class was the main societal problem from the neoliberal perspective, and they now solved it. British society is now perfect.
