If you don't choose the same language as the top-level comment you cannot answer in the same tree. The wheel will just keep spinning but when you look at the API request you see that it returns something like "bad language" and upon choosing the right language you can comment again!

Also, the defence argued that impaired persons operating vessels "propelled by muscle power" are somehow not morally culpable. Like, because, why?

An insect should keep a light source at a fixed visual location for maintaining its heading.

The sensitive night-adapted eyes of insects are blinded by artificial lights, causing them to fly erratically or crash, and trapping them near light sources.

In contrast, diffused artificial light in the same plane as the night sky should restore appropriate dorsal-light-response, allowing insects to fly normally.

Sounds like it was (shocker) really well designed. It even sank once when a cable snapped on support boat

crew escaped, and it was recovered and retrofit. And if things go sideways, the cabin/titanium sphere could detach, floating freely up to the surface.

After hearing about OceanGate, deep sea subs sounded terrifying

but reading about this is somehow very comforting.

Many people know that Amerika was named after Amerigo Vespucci. It turns out tha Amerigo is the Medieval Italian name for Emmerich, a rather uninspiring German city close to the Dutch border.

  • There are no circulating copies of the album online and it cannot be commercially exploited until 2103, but it can be played at listening parties.

  • It took about six years to record, with features from the entire Wu-Tang Clan, Redman, Cher, and even FC Barcelona soccer players and a Game of Thrones actress.

  • The album is unique with only one physical copy in existence, making it the most expensive work of music ever sold.

  • The album was bought by Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO, Martin Shkreli, for $2 million, who later lost it when his assets were seized following his conviction for securities fraud.

  • In 2021, it was bought by PleasrDAO, a non-fungible token (NFT) collectors' group, for $4 million to cover Shkreli's debts. PleasrDAO hopes to make it more accessible within the confines of 'listening parties'.

This was built as a test/ prototype, and was an ancestor of the FWD 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado and 1967 Cadillac Eldorado. The engine was a prototype of a modular engine family that was intended to range from 2 to 12 cylinders, based on the Corvair flat 6. Only 2, 4, 6 and 10 cylinder engines were built before the project was abandoned

They're rubbish bins (or perhaps textile recycling bins, but probably not) specifically for national, regional, and/or local flags.

Edited to clarify: No judgment, I am not making a political or societal argument, just posting about a thing I learned exists. If this post gets hijacked I'll ask the mods to lock it.

Another note, it likely could have survived hitting the iceberg had it not turned to avoid it (it had no chance of avoiding it but turning meant the rivets took the full load of the collision).
