I mean......what value even IS there? He had a website, a microphone, and a dumb as hell audience. Paid for by ad placements for fish pills. What is there to sell really?

A pretty nice desk I'm told.

There are also several parties interested in contact details for dumb as hell audience who don't mind giving money to obvious scammers.

I see plenty of value in buying it and turning it into a gay cam site!

If you don't understand that controlling the infowars domain, his social media accounts, and his businesses 20+ year old subscriber records are valuable to right wing grifters, I don't know what to tell you.

The only issue is controlling Alex Jones. He's too batshit to ever work under anyone and without him most of the value evaporates.

So now it's up to rich people to decide if Alex Jones gets to stay on the air. Will asshole rich people who want him to continue buy it or will some nice rich people buy it to shut him down?

Apparently that combination can make you a lot of money

[-] Carighan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Since he shifted his tactical arsewipes and rebranded vitamin pills business to officially be his dad's now, I dunno.

Maybe as a domain-squatting thing? Make infowars be the official website of Knowledge Fight? Or a campaign website to fight christian extremism.

Here's an idea.

In the UK we have a presenter called Alex Jones, and she's absolutely lovely. She is a host on a show called The One Show, which is basically a topical light-hearted show that jumps from one thing to the next at hilarious speed (think heartwarming story about puppies to a sad story about someone dying or ovarian cancer in the space of a few seconds, while their guest immediately wipes the smile from their face).

Keep Infowars running, but replace the Alex Jones and turn Infowars into a family friendly topical show that brightens everyone's day. Let it succeed, and have him succeeded by the (Good) Alex Jones.

Would be fun to buy and host a good site on

[-] PyroNeurosis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago

This was gonna be my question. How much for the brand name and domain?

[-] FISHNETS@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 month ago

I'm here for anything that makes this man's life more miserable

[-] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago

Who is this guy again? What did he do?

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

It would violate the whole spirit of c/upliftingnews to explain that to you here. Trust me, if you search his name, you'll find out.

[-] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 month ago

This guy sounds like a real shitpump.

Let me tell you though, the only way I personally would violate a spirit is by having sex with a ghost

[-] dog_@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

He is commonly known as the gay frogs guy.

[-] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago

I've heard of a gay fish guy, but not a gay frogs guy! What's next, gay flamingos?

[-] dog_@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Lol. By gay frogs guy, I mean he said this "I don't like them puttin' chemicals in the water THAT TURN THE FRIGGIN' FROGS GAY"
