Trump has followed a similar approach, gathering loyalists in as many government positions as possible. He has vowed retribution against his perceived enemies, much like the forced internment camps the U.S. used for Japanese Americans during WWII. He may indeed imprison those who speak out against him, having already promised to deploy the National Guard against protesters.
I'd say start studying the Bible so you can blend in, but actually knowing scripture is VERY uncommon among the MAGA crowd.

Then they'll turn their attention somewhere else, then somewhere else, but eventually they'll get around to Atheists, because obviously they're all ungodly heathens who commit all sorts of atrocities, not at all like Church leaders and devout Christians, who can do no wrong.

I am the parent of a queer girl. There is no way I can justify staying and risking her being taken away and put in some conversion therapy camp. Or just have to be in the closet she's never been in and never find love except in secret. In fact, due to the internet being forever, she can't even really go into the closet if she needed to.
