The Teamster President who spoke at the RNC even after all that Republicans have done to destroy unions? And he said this on the Tucker Carlson, a nepo baby who hates the working class?

[-] kreskin@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That contempt for workers and adoration of corporate donors is why the democrats lost ground in almost every single demographic. The alarming part is they flatly wont admit why they lost. They learned absolutely nothing. The sheer arrogance of the DNC is astounding.

Their arrogance is the arrogance of the average liberal.

They still refuse to accept the fact that neoliberalism sows the seeds of fascism. They'll support fascism sooner than they'll support a highly regulated and tightly contained capitalism.

OMG you guys, we definitely shouldn't vote for her now after this major snafu.

This unironically.

The Neoliberals have shown they are incapable of representing their voters anymore.

We need a progressive party

There are multiple progressive parties.

And these are the takeaways

[-] jerkface@lemmy.ca 2 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

It may not be the last one. Or even her last one.

[-] aesthelete@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago

For president? I highly doubt she'd try again.

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago

Showing more and more why Harris was not liked. Suddenly all the union moves make more sense.

[-] BoobaAwooga@lemmynsfw.com -3 points 1 day ago

Only reason it comes off negative is because she’s a woman. If this were trump people would say “wow what a great business man”

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago

It comes off as negative because it's consistent with Democrats' withering contempt for people who work for a living.

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 29 points 1 day ago

Cutting a meeting short by 20 minutes, only taking 3/17 questions and telling them to "get onboard"? No, that's presumptive and disrespectful regardless of who does it.

And sheer idiocy on her part.

[-] BoobaAwooga@lemmynsfw.com -3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Most politicians do that especially if you know they won’t endorse you or vote for you and the only ones that get shit on are dems. Another example of dems need to be perfect

[-] stephen01king@lemmy.zip 9 points 22 hours ago

So you want Dems to be judged on the same standards as the Republicans? Guess we gotta start excusing any Dems that do crimes because we can't have them be the only one to get shit on.

Wow bro way to completely blow that out of proportion

[-] Flocklesscrow@lemm.ee 2 points 2 hours ago

You've got a real "just a prank, bro" style of dialogue.

[-] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Aged like RAW milk

[-] maegul@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago

The down votes on this is interesting …?

[-] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 day ago

Why listen to reality when you can downvote your problems away. It's what they did in 2016 and 2024, why stop now?
