"I need to cleanse my mind of the brothers I’ve lost, and relieve myself of the burden of the lives I took.”

The only line of the note worth discussing in this whole event. Shameful how the US government sends kids to kill kids and then forgets about them the moment they leave active duty.

This is only a story about the grim reality of PTSD.

The top 1% decided long ago they weren’t going to bring everyone else with them. You are cattle to them.

Rally around the Trump, Musk, Kennedy

This guy was very confused. Apparently he killed himself in a violent pro Trump spectacle to inspire people.

Had to throw in the toxic masculinity:

Masculinity is good and men must be leaders. Strength is a deterrent and fear is the product.

you should be able to hear my facepalm from space

The fucking moron cried about income inequality and all this shit like homelessness and then wrapped it up in a bow by telling us to rally around our billionaire owners because surely they will save us all… you know…. The price of fucking trash that rat fucked is into this position in the first place?

All the right questions but no fucking brain and all the wrong answers

That soldier committed suicide for nothing and his message not only falls on deaf impotent ears, but will also be immediately forgotten by everyone within a month.

[–] Fades@lemmy.world 28 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

What’s to remember? He told us what we are all quite aware of and then followed that up with a pathetic idea that Trump and Elon will save us.

You want something to remember? Remember Luigi.

The collective conscious and news cycle moves much faster today and would not last a month.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 33 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yes. Dumb writing that blamed Biden for something that happened in 2019.

And also some sci-fi nonsense about Chinese drones using gravitic propulsion.

The man was a lunatic.

“Soldier who died in cybertruck”

I like how they’re not calling him a terrorist becaus he:

  • Failed
  • Is a soldier

Also, I like how there’s no implication that he tried to blow up said cybertruck, he was just killed in it. 🙃

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

From everything I've seen, he really didn't want to hurt anyone else. He packed the cyber truck full of fireworks, not actual explosives.

It was a flashy suicide. Not an attack.

[–] Pandantic@midwest.social 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Can you direct me to something that substantiates this? Did he write that he didn’t want to hurt anyone? From what I’ve read of his stuff, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was just that dumb.

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

He was a veteran Special Forces soldier. He knew how to put together a bomb. This is right up there with "Veteran Shoots Self In VA Parking Lot."

[–] Blackout@fedia.io 27 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I love how they keep bringing up the "possible" connection with Turo, an app millions of Americans use to rent vehicles. How about the connection to Fox News that absolutely drives domestic terror attacks and leads to inaction on veteran care in Congress. Facebook has literally assisted in a genocide before and supports hate speech.

No one should be surprised of these attacks or school shootings. We give them the means to carry them out and hardly any help to proactively stop them. If the military supported and required mental health services for their members and Congress forced health insurances to cover these services with no copay we could stop a lot of it. Will never happen.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago

It was literally the most downloaded car rental app in 2023. I love how they tried to connect this guy to the guy in New Orleans because they both used Turo.

I bet they both drank water too.

[–] bizzle@lemmy.world 23 points 3 months ago

I like how they posted this guy's manifesto EVERYWHERE but suppressed Luigi's. I wonder why on Earth that would be 🤔

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 20 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Really shows that conservatives and the right desperately want things like universal healthcare and equity economics, they just want a facist conservative man to be the one to give it to them.

[–] Pandantic@midwest.social 8 points 3 months ago

It’s kind of sad really but, in a way, heartening? Like if we could break them of their stupid brainwashing, they could be real comrades? Though, I don’t think we can so it’s only sad.

All I'm reading is the ramblings of a typical thoroughly in denial of actual reality Trumper who couldn't make it in a world driven to destroy itself by those he worships. So he offed himself in a manner he obviously deep down knew wouldn't make a damned bit of difference, but continued spouting defiant bravado in the face of said reality because that's the ONLY way he knew how to deal with what he couldn't control.

So fucking typical, pointless, and pathetic.

[–] Fades@lemmy.world 13 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah Kamala is DEI handout because she’s black, totally not there because she was qualified. That god we were saved from weekend at Bernie’s with Kamala as pres. Donald? The fat stupid bigoted bastard who is and has been suffering from dementia just like his piece of shit father… yeah that’s not weekend at Bernie’s, it’s the black woman who can only be there as a DEI handout.

What a dumb disgusting piece of shit. Had all the right questions but the fucking moron couldn’t do anything but look up at his oppressors and ask for more. Good riddance.

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Our population is too fat to join the military yet we are facing a war with China, Russia, North Korea and Iran before 2030.

Bold words from someone named "life is burger"

We must end the war in Ukraine with negotiated settlement. It is the only way.

NGL this would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath, also what I take from this is he just wants to stop fighting Russia so the focus can be on fighting China

Focus on strength and winning. Masculinity is good and men must be leaders. Strength is a deterrent and fear is the product.

I think I'll stick with HRT if masculinity and strength leads to self immolating in a rented cybertruck

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

The "traditional" idea of masculinity is poison. It's why this man did not seek help when it was offered (and it was offered in his case) because that would be an admission of weakness. It's also why an authoritarian strongman was so popular with him.

I've hated macho bullshit ever since I was a kid and I am cis male. There are other ways to express your male gender without being acting like you're a hero in the pro wrestling ring.

A waste of fireworks and fuel.
