Summary

Trump claimed ignorance regarding the use of the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan migrants, stating he did not sign the order and that "other people handled it."

Despite Trump’s claim, CNN confirmed the executive order bears his signature.

A federal judge ordered the deportation flights halted, but the administration defied the order, citing it as verbal and nonbinding.

Trump and his administration criticized the judge, with Attorney General Pam Bondi asserting the judiciary has no authority to challenge immigration decisions.

Shit rolls downhill, and Trump is crouching on top of the turd pile.

[–] orcrist@lemm.ee 10 points 5 hours ago

So then all of those people who did it and acted on it were kidnapping. Great, lock them up.

[–] TheAthena@lemmy.world 7 points 5 hours ago

Orwell, please stop predicting things.

"Look, people, I'll make this simple so that everyone understands: If you hate the thing I did, I didn't do it. If you love the thing someone else did, I did it. Easy."

[–] D_C@lemm.ee 1 points 3 hours ago

This is far too easy to comprehend for a quote from that stack of rancid orange whale shit. There needs to be lots more tangents and useless bits of inane waffling in there.

[–] 1995ToyotaCorolla@lemmy.world 26 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

So… someone else is drafting EO’s and using his signature? How exactly is that better?

The autopen has achieved sentience.

[–] iamai@lemm.ee 4 points 7 hours ago

Autopen is written in that invisible ink we had as kids!

[–] Alwaysnownevernotme@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

The buck stops somewhere I guess.

hey look, I don't know what's going on, I just work here. ask someone who's responsible. the buck stops somewhere over there.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

The donvict motto: "the bucks stops with 'that was other kids'".

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 9 points 10 hours ago

The buck stops with... I don't know, someone else.

[–] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 17 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

It almost resembles a Nuremberg plea speech.

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 71 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago) (1 children)

Ah so it was autopen. Then it needs rescinding doesn’t it according to your own logic.

Dick head.

Also just confirms he isn’t running the show. The “deep state” and his “handlers” are, according to MAGA logic.

Dick heads.

Knew that whole "Biden didn't even sign the EOs!" had to be projection and setting up for something. Here it is. They don't even need him to rubberstamp shit anymore, just full Weekend at Bernie's with our senile walking corpse president. Hooray.

[–] Kayday@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

But don't worry, this ends once Trump leaves office /s

[–] eran_morad@lemmy.world 8 points 11 hours ago

We already knew that Putin is the fucking president.

[–] whotookkarl@lemmy.world 34 points 15 hours ago

Afraid of everything, a coward given all the power of the executive and capable of only whining, shifting blame, and scapegoating the working class and poor. How evil do you have to be to deny asylum seekers and refugees?

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 136 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

If Joe Biden had claimed he didn't sign something after he obviously did, the top story would have been all about whether he still had the mental competence to lead....

[–] KnowledgeableNip@sh.itjust.works 62 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (2 children)

We watched this man fail to operate a car door, we're beyond reason

[–] Auntievenim@lemmy.world 9 points 16 hours ago

The whole thing was computer, he was expecting an automatic I'm guessing

Not trying to be rude here, but this ain't it. This sort of thing happens to me a lot due to hypotension and I'm perfectly mentally capable. Criticize the shit he says, not his physical struggles/disability. This just normalizes ableism. A disabled person can very well be capable of leading.

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 7 points 18 hours ago

Thanks. I have had similar things happen to me while not paying attention...

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Purely pathological

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 127 points 21 hours ago

Didn't he say the other day that Biden's pardons are not valid because he didn't personally sign them? Does this make Trump's expulsion orders also not valid? Ah sorry it only counts when other people do it.

Also he just admitted he just signs whatever and had no idea what he just signed actually contains. Either that or these "other people" faked his signature which is another can of work on its own. Maybe he'll blame it on the deep state lol.

Such a clown show it puts professional clowns to shame.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 21 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

Not sure if Mafia boss or toddler.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 11 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

What he is, is the most prolific traitor in American history, worse than ALL other American traitors COMBINED.

[–] ZoopZeZoop@lemmy.world 7 points 9 hours ago

He and the people propping him up. There are a fair number of them.

[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 3 points 13 hours ago

Not sure if he's an idiot or loofah sponge filled with jello.

[–] notabot@lemm.ee 70 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

So, he's admitting he's ignorant and not in control of this administration. I wonder if his worshipers will ever notice that their idol isn't the one pulling the strings?

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 26 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (1 children)

Luckily, for him, absolute cognitive dissonance is a prerequisite to being a Trumpist.

[–] werty@sh.itjust.works 17 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Ok, I'm going to get hate for this but cognitive dissonance is not a pejorative or a synonym for hypocrisy. It's a feeling one gets from holding conflicting cognitions that provokes further thought. I doubt his fans experience it at all as 'trump said so' is enough to make anything make sense to them.

[–] Auntievenim@lemmy.world 6 points 16 hours ago

Youre right, the correct terminology here is "doublethink"

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 18 points 17 hours ago

Probably saw some of the impeach comments on social media. It still galls me the folks that want to treat things from maga with the same weight as democrats or any other political figure. When you are a bald face liar no one should believe you without massive evidence what you say is true. I have known and sorta assume it was prevalent enough that most other folks knew, that person, that friend, maybe that family member ; who is always full of shit. You hear something from them and you assume its bs unless someone more credible mentions it and then maybe you put some effort to look into it.

[–] LithiumX@lemmy.world 36 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

Ah yes a true leader. Takes credit when he wants, not when he doesn't.

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 34 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

The Act itself requires a Presidential proclamation before the powers can be invoked.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 17 hours ago

That didn't happen. And if it did, it wasn't that bad. And if it was, that's not a big deal. And if it is, that's not my fault. <--- We are here And if it was, I didn't mean it. And if I did, you deserved it.

[–] oppy1984@lemm.ee 14 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

And this is coming from the same guy who claims Biden's pardons are invalid because he used an auto pen instead of physically signing each one.

I mean, it’s in the federal register with his signature on it: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2025-03-20/pdf/2025-04865.pdf

There’s no way to know if it was done with autopen, his hands, or some intern using the Annotate->Add Signature feature on their MacBook or whatever but his signature is on it.

[–] BookSnob@lemmy.ca 0 points 7 hours ago

Certifiable retard.

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 10 points 17 hours ago

The buck stops somewhere else.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 23 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

He denied any association with project 2025 despite many members of his administration writing it. He also said ukraine started their war. He also says canada doing anything except becoming the 51st state is escalating the economic warfare canada started. He calls the trade deal he signed with Canada a terrible deal and asks who the hell signed it. He knows the internet has rotted our memories and attention spans and hes trying to rewrite history to his favour with that knowledge. The scary part is, it's working.

Trump claimed ignorance

How many times has Trump done this? And he wants us to fear him?

[–] ATDA@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago

Even if that's the case tough shit. Scratching through that Teflon coating you fucker.

[–] melodious_thunk@lemm.ee 10 points 18 hours ago

JFC can he not take even the slightest criticism without shirking his responsibility? What a sad joke he is.

[–] BetaBlake@lemmy.world 6 points 16 hours ago

This nutgobbler has never taken accountability for anything.
