My understanding is we already have sensibly restrictive gun laws but a problem with illegal guns coming in from the States.

Attacking legal gun owners is about as stupid as it gets.

These people paid for the privilege of owning these devices, followed safety courses that are no joke and are restricted to weapons that basically are only of use for hunting.
