Titanic annual dbuttholeeaths?

[–] remon@ani.social 23 points 1 month ago

Seriously ...

[–] D_C@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago

If we are being fair then the 2023 deaths were quite butthole-ish.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 101 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If you cannot post the word death, then that platform should be nuked from orbit. Pathetic.

It's the only way to be sure

"What happened in 2023?"

I suddenly recall

"Oh! Lol! Lmao! XD!"

XKCD, if he were a little more macabre.

I'd say this runs pretty close.

aside from the self censorship, that graph doesn't make sense at all

[–] VonReposti@feddit.dk 32 points 1 month ago (1 children)

A rich guy's submarine imploded while exploring Titantic in 2023. All 5 occupants died. Obviously.

[–] Akasazh@feddit.nl 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Look at the time scale. The deaths of the 1912 sinking are taking about thrice the time to die and microsecond implosion took all year of 2023, if the time scale is too be believed.

It's just how graphs work

Yea and I'm whining a bit over it's execution. I mean I got the joke, but instead of attacking the authors' censorship of the word 'death' I chose something else to nitpick about.

It's funny to me how controversial pointing out that a graph sucks seems to be.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I honestly kind of enjoy nerdish pedantic nit-picking over the most inconsequential things, really. It's better than a lot of other hobbies. I'm still gonna poke fun sometimes, probably.

[–] Akasazh@feddit.nl 2 points 1 month ago

Whenever I read that word I imagine extra emphasis and an index finger thrust skywards.

[–] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I believe it's referring to the five people who died in 2023 in that submersible that was named "titanic."
