1. Follow the site-wide rules

2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like "every user of thing".
  • Don't get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
  • Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry will not be tolerated.
  • 3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.
  • 4. No recent reposts
  • Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, <loves/tolerates/hates> systemd, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.

How about just cuddling and talking about our favorite distros.

    Arch btw

    [–] Agent641@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Oh great, our first fight already?

    [–] somerandomperson@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

    i use arch btw

(Fact: i used to think arch users have ascended to the linux heaven:tm:. But after installing (WITHOUT archinstall) and using arch and saying it... what now? NixOS aint cutting it and immutable distros are...well...too immutable.)

    [–] dai@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You could always fall back to Hannah Montana Linux.

GUIX, openSUSE or Void might take your fancy if the more mainstream distros aren't quite hitting the spot.

I'll try Void. Guix and Nix is out of my interest, but void... hmmmm...

    What do these words mean?

    • twink
    • twunk
    • otter
    • side
    • J/O
    • frot
    [–] BagOfHeavyStones@piefed.social 119 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

    Twink. A kind of biscuit.

Twunk. It was a biscuit but now it's gone.

Otter. Thing that stole the biscuit.

Side. The biscuit was a side dish.

    J/O. Just Otters.

    Frot. Forgot.

    [–] varden@lemmy.world 99 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (4 children)
    • Twink - a thin, mostly bodyhairless gay man
    • Twunk - a muscly, mostly bodyhairless gay man
    • Bear - a hairy, thicker gay man
    • Otter - a thinner but still hairy gay man
    • J/O - jerk off
    • Frot - touching two penises together, usually while j/o with each other
    • Top - the person who is topping is the person penetrating
    • Bottom - same but is instead the person being penetrated
    • Verse - likes being both top and bottom
    • Side - I'm less familiar with this one but given the quotes and context I'm assuming this is not a top or a bottom or a verse, but instead is someone less interested in penetration and more interested in body contact and j/o together. *
    [–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 2 hours ago

And I thought otter was referring to the specie of their fursona.

    Oh well.

    [–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 10 points 4 days ago

Side just means no penetration. Usually it means ok with oral, manual and frotting. You can indicate both (vers, side ok) to indicate you don't mind someone who isn't into penetration.

So he wants a man who's either thin, muscular, or neither, and who's also hairy, hairless, or neither. Sooooo, that's every man

    [–] communism@lemmy.ml 33 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

He doesn't mention bears. He says he's looking for a twink or twunk and is an otter himself. So sounds like he wants a hairless guy who's either thin or muscly.

    [–] Anivia@feddit.org 11 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I agree with your observations about the hairy or hairless part, but thin or muscular are not the only 2 body types men can have. You can be fat and not muscular, I heard it's a pretty common body type in America

I think the first 2 or 4 have heavy gay culture connotations, but can be adapted to mean any man.

Does not have sex; only touches tips and jacks off.

They didnt even have to say they used Linux for everyone to know they used Linux. 😌

    [–] janNatan@lemmy.ml 7 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Frottage is more than "touching tips." It includes rubbing the member anywhere on skin.

Not all grindr users are linux users. But are all linux users grindr users?

    [–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 29 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Jokes on him! >50% of guys on there do not bother to read the profile. Instead, their first message is of their junk…followed by three more pics of aforementioned junk and an aggressive opening message. It’s a great time!

Don't forget the very well light, 4k quality picture of their anus that they do not properly clean

    [–] Eiri@lemmy.ca 11 points 4 days ago (5 children)

I thought most of Grindr was more or less that expectation. Hey, you're hot, and if you think I'm hot too, let's meet up tonight. Here's a sample.

    Something like that.

I'm guessing I'm at least partly wrong?

    [–] eupraxia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

This tracks for how a lot of people use the app, but depending on where you are you can also have some fairly normal (for a dating site) conversations with people as well. I spent a couple months on Grindr despite not being interested in hookups, since it's a decent way to meet other trans folk in my area. My inbox was mostly dick pics but I also met some amazing people I'm still with several years later!

    Muscular twink

    [–] DieserTypMatthias@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Let's hope someone will encounter a girl on Tinder that uses Linux. The more in common, the better.

    [–] HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 4 days ago (5 children)

Are there women on grinder or are there only men?

    [–] basiclemmon98@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

I think there are a few lesbian alternatives, but you just never hear about them because the public views lesbian hookups as less blasphemous than gay male hookups. Because creepy straight men see lesbian hookups as sexy.

    [–] Sxan@piefed.zip 3 points 4 days ago (6 children)

Wait... finding lesbian hookups sexy makes a CIS man creepy?

Can you explain ΓΎe logic there? Does it also apply to all ΓΎe CIS women who find Yaoi hot?

I think I read somewhere that they tried to include lesbians but it wasn't popular or something.

    [–] communism@lemmy.ml 9 points 4 days ago

I know some trans women who use it, never met a cis woman who uses it but I think technically the app is advertised towards lgbt people in general.

    [–] Eiri@lemmy.ca 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Strictly an app for gay men so I think a woman would be quite out of place

Oh! I know that from a guy from my old work who’s gay! You know how big, hairy men are called "bear"? Well, an otter is a tall and slim average guy with a beard!

    [–] RBWells@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Wait, is his geographic range three different countries? He would travel internationally for no sex romantic cuddles?

    [–] skarn@discuss.tchncs.de 30 points 4 days ago (3 children)

I think that's language options, not geographic range.

He says he lives in Graz, in Austria (where people speak German and there are no kangaroos BTW).

US-americans literally cannot imagine someone speaking more than one language, let alone three
