Finally started watching Mindhunters after years of reading glowing reviews and.... totally get it. Can't stop watching.

I keep hoping that one gets revived... I know it won't but I love it so!

Haibane Renmei. For a show that's 23 years old with only 13 episodes, I manage to hear new and unique opinions about it like once a week

It's a perfect anime for people who like anime, but not, like, anime anime. No fight scenes, no sci-fi, no spellcasting, just a girl with amnesia trying to get used to the strange walled town she recently woke up in. There are not enough superlatives to describe how much I love this show

A girl with Amnesia and a halo and angel wings if I remember correctly, it had a unique quiet vibe

Red Dwarf, I used to watch it with my dad while he was alive.

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

Have you read the books? The first two make the show look like a pile of wet garbage, and I love the show.

Even the movie wasn't enough, damn you Fox.

I'm about to jump into The Twilight Zone from 1959.

Where will he go next? This phantom from another time, this resurrected ghost of a previous nightmare. Chicago? Los Angeles? Miami, Florida? Vincennes, Indiana? Syracuse, New York? Anyplace, everyplace, where there's hate, where there's prejudice, where there's bigotry. He's alive. He's alive so long as these evils exist. Remember that when he comes to your town. Remember it when you hear his voice speaking out through others. Remember it when you hear a name called, a minority attacked, any blind, unreasoning assault on a people or any human being. He's alive because, through these things, we keep him alive.

Such a cool quote. Rod Serling was an awesome writer.

I am sending this to my kids, who have crushed hard on:

X files

Bones

Supernatural

Killing Eve

Friends

Probably ten more I am forgetting

Honestly I think they have watched more 1990/2000s TV than I ever did, I was too busy raising them & their siblings.

[–] BaroqueBobby@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

I rather enjoyed Hung from HBO

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

Yes, what a great time for escapism.

[–] madjo@feddit.nl 1 points 10 hours ago

NBC shouldn't have cancelled The Pretender days after that explosive cliff hanger!

I remember that show! Jack and Karen amused me

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

I have decided to see all Star Trek series.

I have gone through The Original Series. The Animated Series and now doing The next Generation about half way through season 5!

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

TNG is my favourite star trek! Who is your favourite character?

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I quite like Q even though he's not a major character really. But Data is probably my favourite of the main characters. Likewise Spock from TOS

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 45 minutes ago

Good call! Funnily enough they're my 2 favourites too. Although now I'm older I appreciate Picard more...

[–] Brutticus@midwest.social 3 points 12 hours ago

Barney Miller

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Not exactly niche, but I like to watch the red green show when I can catch it on

[–] mostNONheinous@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

I believe it is on Tubi, free to watch with some adds.

[–] bridgeenjoyer@sh.itjust.works 4 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Corner gas!! Basically "Friends" with different people in Canda.

[–] VeryVito@lemmy.ml 1 points 7 minutes ago

Corner Gas is so much better than it needs to be. I always think of it as “Seinfeld on a Prairie.”

[–] cantankerous_cashew@lemmy.world 14 points 19 hours ago
[–] Venefica@lemmy.ca 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Is Penny Dreadful considered niche?

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 3 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Someone else said Friends, so I think Penny Dreadful counts

[–] Venefica@lemmy.ca 3 points 7 hours ago

I know there used to be niche shows, but then covid happened and we all had nothing to do

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

Fringe, life on mars(both American and British versions)

[–] Soleos@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)
[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 3 points 13 hours ago

That's an amazing show

[–] absentbird@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Pushing Daisies! I love it so much.

[–] Soleos@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago

Oh man, that was a good one
