Giancarlo Esposito is the embodiment of quiet menace and commitment to character

[–] pipi1234@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

As a native Spanish speaker, I can very much tell you that he had zero commitment to his spanish lines in bb. Apart from that... hats off, he is an excellent actor indeed.

I'm not native, but I speak a bit, and there was something about his lines that felt like someone who trained to say those exact words in that exact sequence, rather than someone that is actually fluent. Thanks for confirming.

I'm easily amused, but not many things make me laugh out loud. This did.

Also, my brother's first cat was named Galois. Would you like me to relay your contact details to him so you can reunite?

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

aw shit i got like so many cats i would like to employ your services with

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I can't guarantee that would end well. The first cat I lost, we buried; a bit later, my parents forgot it was there and planted a tomato plant in the spot.

A bit later, cat bones started coming up from the ground unexpectedly.

So I can't promise a pleasant or clean reunion.

they stuck by me when i was bones and skin, i can stick by them when they're bones and bones

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

That's a very sweet comment.

Shit, he is a good actor!

[–] balderdash9@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 weeks ago

Expected a Rickroll, was still worth watching.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 35 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I want this to be true so bad.

[–] cRazi_man@europe.pub 64 points 2 weeks ago (12 children)

The most unbelievable part is the fact that someone has just found an unattended and unclaimed banana in pristine condition.

[–] EffortlessEffluvium@lemmy.zip 42 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Yeah, I mean that's like finding 10 bucks just lying about!

Who’s kissing roses?

[–] wheezy@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 week ago

The crossover though is pretty common. There's always money in the banana stand.

My wife has, on more than one occasion, picked up and brought home "parking lot bananas" from work.

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Make sure she doesn't plug them into any computers; that's a common pentesting technique.

Unfortunately, it is actually a banana

[–] x00z@lemmy.world 34 points 2 weeks ago (6 children)

Who the hell finds a random banana outside?

[–] tychosmoose@lemmy.world 30 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

To be fair it wasn't a random banana.

It was this specific banana.

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)
[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

It is a gun.

50/50 chance it was either this one or not.

what about the edge case where the banana got eaten and all its constituent molecules reincorporated themselves into a new banana to be found in the line for photos with giancarlo esposito because the universe likes a good joke

[–] StarvingMartist@sh.itjust.works 23 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That sounds like talk of someone who wouldn't pick up said banana

[–] x00z@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

And have my fingerprints all over it? No thanks.

[–] RedSnt@feddit.dk 11 points 1 week ago

Bananas tend to grow outside after all.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

Isn't that where they all come from?

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 5 points 2 weeks ago

At a con like that there are likely a bunch of kids, and kids drop shit all the time.

They should have included a banana for scale, so we can see how big that gun is.

[–] Sideshow_B00b@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 week ago

Los Hermanos Bananas

Every decent actor & fan of theater pays tribute (or should) to Monty Python (Flying Circus in this case: In Defense Against Fresh Fruits.: https://youtu.be/NqDPsonOLCQ)

[–] demiguru@fosstodon.org 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

@Stamets This made me genuinely smile. Thank you for sharing 😀

[–] Stamets@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 weeks ago

I try my best

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 week ago

That's Pierce Hawthorn's brother!

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

He was awesome in The Residence too if you haven't seen it.

[–] PumpkinEscobar@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

Also, community. Just a couple episodes but he had a really funny/interesting straight-man energy that he did well

[–] CookieOfFortune@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I enjoyed her in Taskmaster!
