But they did live in Eden, we've got a bunch of those.

We have these where I live and pedestrians 100% ignore it. Cyclists do pretty often too.

Who gets to decide it's a civil war?

[-] BluesF@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Yes, mostly it's not allowed as either laws include them specifically or bizarrely they are treated as motor vehicles. There are places that don't mind though. Pretty much everywhere except Montana, in the US, it is illegal to drive a horse and cart drunk. In the UK it's illegal to be in charge of cattle on a road drunk. Very inclusive.

If the purpose of a system is what it does, then it seems the purpose of democracy is the self flagellation of the masses.

They pushed further right to try and court republican voters who want nothing to do with them, and alienated their own base.

I agree with both you and the meme. You're right that everyone should have sucked it up and voted for Kamala anyway. The meme is right because the Dems fucked this royally at several stages. Yes, American voters have made a decision that I massively disagree with... But you also have to recognise the vast political mistakes the party have made that led to this point.

I would say everyone does it. Confirmation bias isn't something you can completely avoid. You can try to recognise it in yourself, but most of the time it's a lot more subtle. As simple as reading something you agree with and not going to check the source. We ALL do that.

As is, once a post is solved it's revealed in the name, but this means you can't then try to guess already solved posts - only new ones. If we reveal the answer in a spoiler in the post body instead, the sub's historical posts will remain playable for new players to practice.

Tricky to explain exactly. Sometimes the comment button goes straight to adding a new comment rather than the post's comments. To reach the comments I have to press it again. But because it's not consistent sometimes I have to press it several times to reach the actual comments.
