I think this is my plan as well. I tried to watch right after the polls closed and I turned into an awful wreck so now it's bobs burgers and weed and maybe some midnight stress cooking.

I may be remembering it wrong, but I think world was one of the few accepting people without a referral during the reddit migration. That's why I use .world. I also don't really understand federation besides it means I can see other instances, but I only barely know what that means. There were a lot of "what is the fediverse" posts when I first joined, and they were helpful, but maybe too simplified?

I also remember thinking .world and .ml were the defaults when I started.

I got molested by my dad's friend when I was fifteen, and my dad invited him to my sixteenth birthday a few months later. I had a temper tantrum and smashed my cake on the ground and cried all night, but to this day have never told anyone why I was so upset.

My grandpa's life partner came into his life after my dad was an adult but before I was born, so she's been in the family longer than I have. She never wanted to be called anything other than her first name, but by all measures, she is my grandma, and I love her. So I've had the typical grandma/grandpa names for mine, but I also have an Izzy, and that's really special to me.

I'm young and ignorant, so I don't know what I'm talking about and I'd be open to anyone posting any links for me to learn from. But I remember being in middle and high-school 20 years ago, and learning about the UN's "millennium goals" that they were trying to achieve by 2015. And they were... awesome. Like the real definition of awesome. They were awe-inspiring. And they made me hopeful as a young teen. And I remember when 2015 came and went and they hadn't even come close to meeting those goals. And I remember thinking, okay, well, they'll keep trying. But they didn't keep trying, and in fact I never heard anyone talk about the millennium goals ever again. And then 2016 came, and at least from my American-centric viewpoint, the world has been on a rapid decline since then. And I am honestly so hopeless, like rock bottom hopless, like, I don't know what the future is gonna be, but i can't imagine a good one if we stay on this path, and I don't know what to do, because I'm not a world leader.

I used to have so much respect and admiration for the UN but they're just as garbage as every other power in the world. This post is a fucking joke. My ex partner is from Saudi. I remember excitedly asking him about his opinion and his families opinion when women were first given permission to drive and he was DISGUSTED. Said "this should have happened ages ago, Saudi is using this as a PR move, why should we be happy that women are just now getting this right?"

Anyway. Sorry for the long response to your sarcastic comment. Have a good day. Xoxo.

It's called the scrub mommy because it has a soft side :)

(I didn't make that up, thats their advertising).

Also it does 2x the work for less money than the scrub daddy costs. I didn't make that up either, but it's true, they're cheaper, and that's very funny.

I crested the hill on my way to work, and perched on a powerline was the biggest Red Tailed Hawk I've ever seen in my life. The sun was rising on the other side of the road, dusting the snow covered mountains in pink and gold light, still half covered in shadow, just waking up. The road in front of me was straight and clear, there were no other cars. As I drove past this big guy I slowed down and was gonna stop to take a picture, but we locked eyes, he flung open his massive wings, dust swirling in the air around him, glinting in the new sunlight. He shook himself out like a wet dog and swooped in front of my window and into the pine grove across the street.

My mother was the abuser in my home. She abused me and my father. That fact doesn't prevent me from knowing that men are statistically more likely to be the aggressor. I don't know what I'm trying to say with this comment. Life is scary and hard enough. May we all only share and receive kindness.

Xx love you.

I would subscribe and contribute to this community for sure. So often I see amazing things and don't have my phone to capture it, and it would be a cool place to share some of those things, both serious and silly ♡

I'm excited and pre-registered. I didn't pay for sync for reddit, but now that I am more educated about the life of developers and third party apps, I will def pay for sync for lemmy. I have heard good things about some of the existing apps, but I have just been using the web browser while I wait for the sync app to be ready, and I am so ready to download and use it. <3

It's a charcuterie board, not a cutting board, its for parties, the illustrations are telling you what kinds of snacks to put out. What a cool idea for a lap desk, it's so pretty and unique.
