This while hiking, but have been considering a switch to this.

I think it was my sons pants to make him laugh.

[–] PonyOfWar@pawb.social 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I frequently wear a flatcap.

[–] Sneptaur@pawb.social 4 points 1 year ago

A beanie in the fall because I look cute in it

[–] bruhbeans@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Does a bike helmet count? If it does, then that. Otherwise, warm beanie whenever it was last cold.

A beanie in the winter because it was cold outside

Victorian style top hat

[–] Starb3an@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

Camo baseball cap. I only wore it to go dove hunting. Only other hat I wear is a beanie if it's cold.

[–] Carnelian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Baseball cap! Been getting more into them lately after never really wearing hats. I started because a friend said they’re useful for hiking, but after getting compliments I started just wearing them in general as well.

[–] Sumocat@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Kangol flat cap, gray. I alternate between that and a beige flat cap with a closer fit, which is the one that got me into flat caps.

[–] Shdwdrgn@mander.xyz 2 points 1 year ago

Green felt top hat with a size tag stuck in the band. Oof that's been about 20 years ago now.

[–] acosmichippo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

wide brimmed bucket hat, for sun protection.

Baseball cap! Wearing it now actually. It has a mesh back and a gray front with my state's shape on it patterned with a rainbow 🌈

[–] Maestro@fedia.io 2 points 1 year ago

Not sure. Either my 1890s mailman cap, my medieval nasal helmet or my cowboy hat.

A light grey flat cap

Stetson straw wheat gambler hat

A Stetson straw wheat gambler hat. I have a lot of hats, but this one allows for maximum air flow.

This old thing - a Barmah Squashy hate, made from Kangaroo leather. I clearly don't regularly treat it with leather conditioner like they tell you to.

This hat is my constant companion whenever I go camping. We're literally tomorrow leaving for a three week trip through the Outback, so it's about to get a lot of use.

One of these a few weeks ago, because I went on a walk and it was really sunny outside!

baseball cap yesterday while playing disc golf

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why weren't you wearing a disc golf cap?

[–] comfyquaker@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

what constitutes for a disc golf cap? Honestly didn’t know a thing existed

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Well if there's a baseball cap and bowling shoes and tennis bracelets then there's surely some sort of attire unique to that activity

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

OMG. I was playing today but I don't know what the hat is called. It has a brim and little holes for air. I guess it's kind of like a Safari hat.

[–] iamtrashman1312@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

A band beanie, yesterday. I wear such a hat almost every day

[–] Dippy@beehaw.org 1 points 11 months ago

I wear a baseball style cap every day to protect my long hair during my day job in the HVAC industry. I stuff it up in there

[–] Eiri@lemmy.ca 1 points 11 months ago

Eh, bicycle helmet I guess?

Usually a ball cap of some variety, I have a couple.

It was probably my favorite, a custom one a friend got me that has "Mrs Lovett's meat pies" on it. Custom because my giant dome made the ones that were available from the show itself look ridiculous lol.

There's also a pride hat, a pirate hat with "surrender the booty" stitched in small print above the back band, a random ebay find with Bacchus on it, and one that's just plain black.

I've got a boonie hat that I use when it's raining, and a couple of dressier ones that look nice when I have to/should wear a suit.

After my hairline started receding and I got my first sunburn, me and hats became friends lol.

[–] CetaceanNeeded@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

An Akubra which I have had for about 18 years. It's like a cowboy hat but Australian and made from rabbit fur felt.

I bought a Frankenstein costume hat from Amazon the other day.

ID: A blue baseball cap with the Walmart logo, a stylized yellow asterisk, embroidered in the middle. It is part of the employee uniform

This sexy little thing

[–] CodingCarpenter@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Trucker cap I got when I saw the dead south

Quite a while ago, actually, maybe a month or so. It was a straw hat that I got from Italy.

[–] whotookkarl@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

United States Forest service baseball cap.

[–] boogetyboo@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

Plain grey ball cap every time I step outdoors in anything less than smart casual. Slip slop slap and slide, kids.

[–] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

If head wraps/scarves count, then that.

I wear a cap every day

[–] wildbus8979@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I wear a Cadet/Radar cap most of times I'm out. I have a flat cap I wear sometimes.

[–] EssentialNPC@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I wear a Tilley Airflo pretty much any time I am outside.

I need a wide broom to protect my eyes from the sun (early cataracts). I need a hat that is useful for outdoor fun but also looks good around town. I do not want to worry about rain or have a lot of upkeep.

I wash my Tilley in the machine. I get compliments everywhere I go. It works great on the trail, and looks great paired with a sport coat for a country-boy-on-the-town sort of look. I can't recommend that hat enough.

[–] MisterNeon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Tie-dyed baseball cap.

[–] ZapBeebz_@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Baseball cap at a baseball game over the weekend, or a hard hat at work last night, depending if you count that as a hat

[–] CaptSatelliteJack@lemy.lol 1 points 11 months ago

Today, I wore my Findlay Hats "Cozy," which is a gray natural fiber unstructured strapback. It was a limited release (48 pieces) that dropped in February of '22. To this day one of my favorite hats I've ever bought. Before that, it was my Chunky Chameleon, which was Hat of the Month from May of this year.
