They look/are horrible.

[-] Frostbeard@lemmy.world 9 points 3 hours ago

In Norway they are sold as fast food and are called rollerburger

[-] roguetrick@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 55 minutes ago)

Brother, we sell them in every 7/11 in the US and we pack them with cheese. They are mass produced turds.

[-] crony@lemmy.cronyakatsuki.xyz 61 points 5 hours ago

Those are just čevapi.

Arise balkan gang!

Arise balkan gang!

Czechs and Slovaks too. Or at least the meat is the same shape. Usually served with potatoes, raw onion and mustard.

[-] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 7 points 4 hours ago

Raw onions are criminally underrated

I don't think I've ever tried proper pickled onions. Do you have a favorite recipe? Would love to try them!

[-] silver_wings_of_morning@feddit.dk 4 points 3 hours ago

I see nothing wrong here. We have had these alternatives to hot dogs called beef dogs. They are great!

No joke I made kofta a few month ago and I will probably not make them again because I didn't realize what they resembled until I put them on my plate.

Edit: I found a photo of it. It's even worse than I remember.

POV: ate a bag of slivered almonds, and now im looking in the bowl.

Also, mici.

[-] UwUhugger@lemmy.world 7 points 7 hours ago

Also also hungarian fasírt

[-] mint_tamas@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

Only psychopaths make fasírt with this shape

[-] ricecake@sh.itjust.works 36 points 8 hours ago

And they're delicious. ~Although usually not just plain meat, but filled with wonderful spices~

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago

Sprinkle on some sumac, toss it on some rice, you got a meal

[-] Boxscape@lemmy.sdf.org 46 points 8 hours ago
[-] Agent641@lemmy.world 12 points 6 hours ago

Now do hotdogs in the shape of hamburgers. Just a weird, smooth, round-edged red disc of meat

[-] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 7 points 4 hours ago

Actually it's pronounced Bologna I believe

[-] fossphi@lemm.ee 1 points 2 hours ago

But only if it's from Bologna?

[-] Gladaed@feddit.org 1 points 5 hours ago

Does not work as the Fallingbostel mechanism needs the Sausage to be about as long as it is wide.

[-] wesker@lemmy.sdf.org 22 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

Imagine swallowing one of these plain, with only the grease to lubricate it's journey down your throat.

[-] hakase@lemm.ee 1 points 7 minutes ago

That sounds amazing. I already eat spoonfuls of ground beef out of the pan when prepping for other meals, so why not?

[-] BudgetBandit@sh.itjust.works 11 points 7 hours ago

When I was in Serbia, that was the standard way to get them served.

[-] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 17 points 8 hours ago

/s Whatever squires your Delta Flyer

[-] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 4 points 6 hours ago

Should add some corn to the burger mix.

[-] rwdf@lemmy.world 9 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Blatant rip-off of the Norwegian invention "roller burger", which was a turd shaped hamburger intended to be served at gas stations using their hot dog rollers and a hot dog bun.

[-] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 2 points 5 hours ago

Used to live across from a 711 that had hotdog shaped burger... Tubes or whatever you wanna call it. Basically this, except super uniform. Pretty sure it was extruded instead of formed or rolled or something.

They were not good lol

[-] KuroiKaze@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

They are called a cheeseburger bite and they are aight fresh but in general you are shaving years off your life eating one

[-] ElectricPotato@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

Those are commonly referred to as "grilldos", or singularly, a "grilldo".

[-] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 5 points 5 hours ago

I thought a grilldo was getting pegged at the barbecue?

Obligatory Soylent Green reference

[-] wjrii@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

Gotta trust the experts on something like this.
