It is very interesting to compare Sky News in the UK vs Australia.

Sky News UK is a relatively normal news channel. That is because UK broadcasting is governed by codes of conduct and Ofcom (the governing body) can reprimand, heavily fine or shut down channels which violate its rules. The rules require fairness, impartiality, the right of reply and other safeguards in news reporting.

Sky News Australian is rabidly far right channel that exaggerates and lies about everything. It punches down on minorities because of religion, ethnicity, sexuality or any other reason and does so with impunity. It is not required to be fair or impartial and never is. That is because Australia has no similar code of conduct.

So the issue here is Australia needs to get its broadcasting rules sorted out.

The Australian bit of Sky News is the bit that Rupert Murdoch still owns.

If you ever see bullshit racist twaddle being peddled as "news", just do a quick search and you'll often find it leads back to this prick.

I first understood that maybe 15 years ago, when I was in the UK during the supposed mass riots there. My parents read about that in the media (European public service broadcast news) about the anarchic circumstances and were worried about me.

Sky News Australia is complete batshit, as opposed to Sky News in the UK which is more "normal" mainstream news.

Sky news in Australia is far worse than Fox in the US. It’s little more than a shout box for small minded racists.

Sky News in Australia is equivalent to Fox or GB News.

Conservative news everywhere. Society has had some form of crime since civilization existed. Never gonna get rid of it.
