/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

My Janeway came out far more masculine and one looks strangely like Jared Padalecki so dropped that pic.

Hahaha, that is manly! The impact of lighting, positioning and clothes can't be underestimated.

I got lucky with Janeways smirky pose, really.

[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Agreed, the pose is what made the pic so damned good lol.

With a pinch of Pedro Pascal.

Ok I’d totally watch an AU with all genders swapped. Especially if it plays with the stereotypes and everything

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Honestly it might be possible with AI

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, but it would lack the fun of the acknowledgment. I want something playful and artistic with it. I want Fiona and Cake meets Kirk/Spock if you catch my drift.

So in short I think I need to start reading fanfic. Also I miss when artists had a say in what’s on tv

Is this how hot Kirk looks to people into men? Because yeah. This is confirming how gay I am both in how I don’t find man Kirk at all attractive, and how attractive this version is.

There's a short story, The Procrustean Petard, where the TOS crew get gender swapped by ancient alien tech. Fem Kirk is basically told he's (she's, but the story doesn't respect pronouns) unfit for duty because he's so hot his crew and everyone he interacts with wouldn't be able to resist his charms.

It's...problematic in so many ways.

It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the phaser again

'Buffalo' Bill Shatner

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

I was not ready for this feels-trip. Bravo.

Edit:

  1. Young Kathleen Turner
  2. Lindsay Lohan
[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I was going to do different Riker 5 pics, but the first 2 were great so it felt like I was beating a dead horse doing the others lol.

I am so confused right now, someone hold me?

[–] tias@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I wonder if she still performs the Riker maneuver when sitting down.

[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Oh… knowing a Riker, you know she does.

Star Trek: the next Genderation

[–] HowManyNimons@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Admitting? No that's called confirming.

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes! That's a much better word!

[–] platypus_plumba@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

He'd hit on herself

Star Trek the next Genderation?

[–] SzethFriendOfNimi@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So Lindsay Lohan is what you get when you have a female filter on Shatner?

[–] acockworkorange@mander.xyz 3 points 1 year ago

My thoughts exactly.

[–] Oiconomia@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago (3 children)

O.k., now that we have Kirk, Riker and Janeway, we still need Sisko, Picard, Pike and Archer

[–] Kolonel_Kahlua@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (6 children)
[–] CptEnder@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Damn only Pike is hotter than his fem switch

I wanna see picard fem but still bald tbh

[–] Kolonel_Kahlua@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Too much hair. Kirk hid his baldness. Picard displayed it. Sisko was bald by choice.

[–] AgentGrimstone@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Well that's awkward because I thought that was his daughter.
