We’re not a monolith but I am aware of some facts about us, like we’re statistically more likely to have shorter hair and take more dangerous jobs and commit violence—none of which offend me although the third one is incredibly disappointing.

I believe I can see where you’re coming from. That said I would be interested in reading a bit more about your perspective on why this meme attacks men. Thank ya

You still wear your cup throughout the whole shift though right?

Heya again, browsing Top 24h All I noticed a small fraction of posts versus another instance’s Top 24h All I just happened to browse - no further research into this yet, planned to post but noticed this old thread and throwing it out there now.

(These were posts with hundreds of upvotes across various communities)

Most importantly -

Thank you for the great work rikudou!!!

Thank you!

I wanna share anywhere, I hop on Google Images to look for the highest quality version (I might select the text in the image and copy it and paste it into the search).

Might have saved 0.006 seconds for you. So, over your lifetime, I've still wasted more of your time with this comment than you'll ever save... But anyway!

Do we really know our dentists aren’t CIA agents installing radios but calling them fillings?!

What happens after death is just about the least concerning thing I can imagine. (yay rejoice!) Anywhere from seconds to decades of stuff to worry about before that! :) (oh no anxiety again sorry!)

if we do something it'll be bad

Opening fire in public is a very particular type of “something“

Kimmel didn’t get back on the air thanks to shooters, it was loud noise (and louder money). Also I’m not sure how to ask without seeming like I’m egging you on but are you making recommendations that you yourself are comfortable following? I would understand your argument better if you were an armed leader of group trying to convince others they need to be you doing the same as you, but if you’re posting here then you’re probably not in jail so it seems like you’re encouraging others to get themselves embroiled in gun fights/arrested safely behind a QWERTY layout.

btw this situation is incredibly upsetting and I know your heart is in the right place—we want justice. If I read too much into your comment I’ll leave it here for others who suggest firing at authorities who may have not thought it through all the way, & hope you can see where I’m coming from when you look at the parent comment and then yours.

“I'd rather read the prompt

Clayton Ramsey - 2025-05-03

When I grade students’ assignments, I sometimes see answers like this:

Utilizing Euler angles for rotation representation could have the following possible downsides:

  • Gimbal lock: In certain positions, orientations can reach a singularity, which prevents them from continuously rotating without a sudden change in the coordinate values.
  • Numeric instability: Using Euler angles could cause numeric computations to be less precise, which can add up and produce inaccuracies if used often.
  • Non-unique coordinates: Another downside of Euler angles is that some rotations do not have a unique representation in Euler angles, particularly at singularities.

The downsides of Euler angles make them difficult to utilize in robotics. It’s important to note that very few implementations employ Euler angles for robotics. Instead, one could use rotation matrices or quaternions to facilitate more efficient rotation representation.

[Not a student’s real answer, but my handmade synthesis of the style and content of many answers]

You only have to read one or two of these answers to know exactly what’s up: the students just copy-pasted the output from a large language model, most likely ChatGPT.”

Five of the world‘s most popular language models from four of the world’s top AI companies each confabulate/hallucinate an incorrect answer to a question about a nonexistent “Marathon Crater“.

Web search screenshot attesting to its non-existence:

Disabled man gifted custom software built with ChatGPT - how could the anti-AI cohort reckon with this not-quite-inverse Robinhood kind of scheme? (corp steals from world, man uses for good)

(corp steals from world, man uses theft to help brother communicate)

Wanted to ask on /c/fuck_ai but didn’t want to get banned or ruffle feathers and miss a good discussion

Replies are welcome regardless of whether anyone personally finds the “theft“ premise preposterous - probably most useful as a thought experiment here, to pretend you & I are arguing against someone who has always been anti-AI

Automated Summary (Subject To Error)

• President Trump has launched an organized "retribution campaign" against elite American institutions since November 2024, with most targets quickly capitulating

• Major law firms made deals with Trump:

  • Paul, Weiss pledged $40M in pro bono services to Trump-supported causes
  • Skadden Arps promised $100M in free legal work before Trump took action
  • Some firms (Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, Jenner & Block) chose to fight in court

• Media organizations have settled or adjusted:

  • ABC News settled a defamation lawsuit for $15M toward Trump's presidential library
  • CBS News appears poised to settle for millions
  • Washington Post and LA Times adjusted editorial content to please the White House

• Universities have complied with demands:

  • Columbia University agreed to nine policy changes to unfreeze $400M in federal funding
  • Many hired Republican lobbyists to maintain good relations with the administration

• Key reasons for compliance include:

  • Financial self-preservation and desire to return to business as usual
  • Extensive financial entanglements between private institutions and federal government
  • Wealthy institutions paradoxically more vulnerable due to multiple pressure points
  • Limited collective resistance as "everybody's looking out for number one"

OK, so Apple isn't big on responding to feedback:

Nickkk's numbers eclipse mine: I'm 0/10 on responses/acknowledgments/signs of life over the past couple of years. And you know what...

That's OK. They're telling us they're too big for that. OK.

Accepting this fact, how can Apple avoid hurting their fanboys' little feelings, like through better transparency setting expectations? Could we get some recognition, some social features, automated acknowledgments, a "thanks, archiving" email after 18mo w/o response for a sense of closure... anything?

vWill I do free labor if it fixes annoying bugs in products I use myself, yes.

Will I continue shouting into the void, well even I've gotta put my foot down somewhere.
