For some reason I assumed it was some game thing and I would have remained ignorant and continued to believe that. Oh well. Their advertising almost didn't work on me.
I think the reason I'm bitching about it is because it's made it into my home. My SO's friend got got by the ads, then gifted a similar cup as a gift (essentially got double got)
But now I gotta look at it multiple times a day
I'm Canadian so I kept thinking it was some hockey joke I'm not into sports enough to understand.
What does Stanley have to do with cups though? They mostly make screwdrivers and wrenches right?

They were pushed by some influencers and had somewhat popularity, then some influencer had their car catch fire and their Stanley cup survived, that went very very viral on TikTok.
And now I see generic Stanley like cups being sold in grocery stores. A true staple of virality
absolutely, they also go with the "style" thats popular at the moment. Theyre insanely impractical imo.
Why would you need a handle on an insulated mug,it just makes it uselessly larger.

I thought a Stanley cup was a hockey thing.
Stanley is a brand that makes things like thermal mugs. They were quality and lasted for years, but weren't designed with looks in mind. They were favored by tradespeople because they're hard on stuff and it just works. (I knew them for thermal mugs that held coffee.)
For reasons unknown to me, influencers got a hold of Stanley mugs, with a straw and handle. They became very popular. The company now makes them in many different colors and some people decide to collect them.
Oh, that Stanley. Yea I have a bunch of their tools that I inherited from my dad.
You can block ads but you can't block people in real life. Walk around and you're bound to see them.

If you need a good water bottle, get an owala. I've had mine for like 4 years. Has a carry handle, push button opening that is protected by the handle so it won't randomly pop open, pour OR straw-free sip option, comes in a bunch of sizes, etc.
I'm not a shill, I swear. I'm just a random doofus who used to have a problem with dehydration. I DO NOT endorse products lightly, but owala is a fucking winner for me.
Sorry to be negative about your water bottle but I feel like all the recent colorful water bottles are all plastic fashion accessories.
I feel that bottles with paint and complicated parts won't last as long as simple unpainted bottles like nalgenes.
But hey, if you enjoy your water bottle, embrace it. As long as you're not buying dozens of them, it is a tool and you should have the best tool for your everyday life.
Hydro flask sells lightweight 40oz that I've had for going on 4 years now. I've dropped it down a hill and dinged the edge, but it's the lightest insulated bottle I've ever found, and they use a vinyl wrap instead of paint. Still scratches, etc, but the bottle is great. It weighs less full than some of the more ridiculous 40oz bottle do empty.
