what do these percentages mean? is that stock value?

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Probably sales from the looks of the numbers, which is way more important.

It’s a bit dramatic though, as much of the drop is from competition.

[–] Frostbeard@lemmy.world 11 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Not to trow sand in the gears, but let's wait until the numbers after the launch of the new model Y comes in. Some buyers might waiting for that one.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 1 points 1 hour ago

Quick, somebody tell him that changing models from X to Y makes the cars trans.

[–] Showroom7561@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Why? Are they eager to have their car set on fire?

Nobody should be buying a Tesla in 2025. It literally funds Nazis.

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

OP is right, not everyone pays much attention to what’s going on, or doesn’t think much of it from their information sphere.

That being said, I wouldn’t expect good sales either.

The potential side effects of ketamine include dissociative experiences that may lead to confusion or impaired motor coordination, cognitive disturbances, and, with repeated misuse, the risk of developing a substance use disorder.

I dont think people grasp that he doesnt really care about tesla anymore, his shareholders are having a stroke, but he personally, has other sources of wealth that are more important to his megalomania now, namely starlink and spacex, and all the government subsidies that come from them.

at the end of the day, tesla is just a car company, and when you're a megalomaniac trying to design the entire world to your liking, thats small fry stuff

[–] melpomenesclevage@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

well, sort of. see, the way money works at that scale, everything is about leveraging stuff.

and a lot of his stuff is leveraged off tesla stock. so it won't kill him, but it will at least make an example of him, and be a substantial hit to his assets. like, change the way he lives hit to his income.

edit: assuming the banks don't just slobber all over his dick giving him a pass and free money. which they may.

[–] Wilco@lemm.ee 4 points 10 hours ago

Yes, the new version of "nobility" that doesn't want to pay taxes. They make a company and then get government handouts.

[–] Viskio_Neta_Kafo@lemm.ee 9 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

That's why we need to elect someone who will get the ball rolling on jailing Musk.

uh, dude, there's no time for that. the next elections are YEARS away, for the process to START?

Whether you think elections matter or not, whether you think we're still getting real ones or not, we're so far past that point. they're fucking disappearing people, dude.

We never got rid of lead water service pipes to existing houses and have a fetish for old properties. A cautionary tale really.

also, isn't the drinking water all poop?

[–] GreenerBee@lemmy.today 3 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Cyber trucks were banned for sale in the UK, so maybe they have less far to fall? Also good on them for banning those mobile dumpsters in the first place!

that would explain it.

The EV market is crashing. If you exclude Tesla from the figures, the EV market is up 13%.

[–] Zero22xx@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (2 children)

These guys want to be like Russia and other 'strong men' led countries so bad, let them have a Russian economy, and the same worldwide product 'dominance' as Russia too.

[–] PyroNeurosis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 12 hours ago

Damn, dude! The Lada was shit, but it wasn't a Tesla!

[–] afronaut@slrpnk.net 1 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Sorry, who are “these guys” you’re referring to?

I hope it’s not the 380 million Americans who absolutely did not elect the white foreign colonizer to gut our economy.

[–] melpomenesclevage@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

no, but we haven't risen up to stop it yet.

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Speak for yourself.

Going by my family, this is exactly what many wanted.

[–] petaqui 3 points 14 hours ago

Let's go!!! Spain first, love it 😂

[–] manualoverride@lemmy.world 57 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Hey UK!

Can we just try not to be last for once, please?

[–] xye@lemm.ee 4 points 15 hours ago

But how else would us red, white, and blue headed step-children know how to make you somehow look better in comparison?

[–] Elkot@lemmy.world 10 points 20 hours ago

Being last is what we do best

[–] frazorth@feddit.uk 12 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (4 children)

One of the issues with these percentage stats is that we were not as big of purchasers of Tesla as the rest of Europe so it's going to be harder for us to have as large of drops.

If you look, France has dropped that much just to catch up with us.

[–] StannisDMannis@lemmy.today 12 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (1 children)

Even before the others dropped you were 3rd most out of 8.

Now you're 1st most.

Germany still has higher sales than us, and we aren't much higher than France, but I'm not trying to make excuses just pointing out that percent comparisons aren't great. I think we could all do better in getting Tesla sales down to zero.

[–] ptu@lemm.ee 7 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

The graph is missing headers so not sure, but UK’s numbers are highest here

[–] frazorth@feddit.uk 1 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Yep, the screenshot of a clipped screenshot is pretty bad. I agree.

I'm doing my part. I can't afford a Swasticar anyway.

I can afford a bunch of Nazi stickers, though!

[–] manualoverride@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

I’m thinking about putting a kit together to leave under windscreen wipers…

Option 1: dental floss to remove the Tesla badge. Option 2: a swastika sticker to put next to the Tesla badge.

That way we will know for certain if they are Nazis or not.

[–] Fleur_@hilariouschaos.com 85 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I find it funny how Europeans have organised a more cohesive anti trump movement than Americans have. Truly no county has more of a boot lickjng culture than the "land of the free"

[–] Allonzee@lemmy.world 50 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (7 children)

I say this as an American.

You're all better than us, a lot of people here voted for the Trump, and most of us are so successfully deluded by oligarch propaganda that many blame our powerless, homeless neighbors that we abandoned and betrayed for what the owners inflict on us.

We are gaslit beyond all hope. We can't even agree as a society that our children should be fed, and this madness of greed and demented levels of toxic individualism didn't start with Trump. It boggles my mind that people have actually wanted to immigrate here in my 40 years living inside this cesspool, only good at being an exporter of death and state mandated avarice.

Unless you're wealthy, or are sociopathic enough to become so because sociopathy is what we reward, this is a garbage place of largely garbage people. Most here would rather burn ourselves and the world than disempower our capitalists, as that would be "socialism," a word our captured government rebranded as a boogieman and that, by design, most Americans couldn't actually define with access to one of our underfunded libraries and a gun to their head.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 3 points 18 hours ago

Agree. It's the basic shit that defines the GOP as inhumane, like fighting tooth and nail to take what little low income families get from the government because you once saw a guy try to use his EBT card to get something non essential.

And fighting to take food away from children, literally, who have no say in what happens anyway. Fuck the GOP.

Excellent. Fuck Musk and all his companies. Biggest leech on the planet. He didn’t make his money, he stole it.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

His entire life, since the day he was born, has been built entirely on exploitation.
