And, if he'd lost the coin toss, he would have decided he should flip again, because that one didn't count.

... and then you conveniently forget what you've called for heads and tails.

The best way to make a decision you're "50/50" on. Flip a coin. If you're disappointed with the result, pick the other one, you wanted it more than 50.

I’m way to smart for this so I couldn’t believe it when my totally rational and super scientific mind fell for this and it’s worked over and over.

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 12 points 1 week ago

Or just think “I meant heads I call them” and skip the second coin flip

Why is this man speaking in 3rd person?

You're the only one here who can answer that.

Haha physics

[–] Ruthalas@infosec.pub 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I assume because it makes the coin flipping part more absurd.

[–] bluecat_OwO@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

There’s this girl at my job that is off the deep end and every part of my brain is screaming at me when I have to talk to her but there is that ONE part that always has to wonder “what if” lmao

[–] some_random_nick@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Stay strong and get your freak on

[–] TempermentalAnomaly@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

My dead brain was doing the physics wondering about frames of reference and the speed of the coin. I figured it out. It will always land on heads.

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

...is this meme the sign I needed?

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes, but as a warning NOT TO DO IT!

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

But that's not what the man in the meme did. I'll just check in, really quick, just to say hi. It'll be fine. I can handle this.

[–] renamon_silver@lemmy.wtf 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Wasn't there a movie about this?

[–] blargle@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What's the most you've ever lost on a coin toss?

[–] DrDystopia@lemy.lol 2 points 1 week ago

The coin in question.

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 5 points 1 week ago

[–] Kowowow@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago

Was it the guy's job to move trains?

[–] Univ3rse@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 1 week ago

All I could think while reading is that this man has ventured too far into a stranger's personal space. I suppose that's why I'd never live somewhere like NY or LA, affordability aside. I don't want strangers that close to me constantly.
