This has inspired me to work on my grindset until I, too, can time travel.

I am very intrigued about this.

[–] Pringles@sopuli.xyz 8 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Where is this from? It looks like an 80's game.

[–] azzlan@feddit.uk 9 points 3 days ago

The quote is from a classified ad from 1997. Here's the wiki page on it.

They also made the idea into a film. I quite enjoyed it

[–] 5765313496@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

It was a YTMND meme.

And then someone made a movie on the same subject.

Let me know if you have any more questions about YTMND memes from 2005!

They made a movie based on this. It's called "Safety Not Guaranteed" and it was OK given the premise.

I'm actually learning to time travel. Still not perfect. It often takes me seven days to travel a week into the future but still

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

Wait... Is your mind just traveling back as your past self, or are you just traveling back in time as your fat self? Because one is just having memories, and the other is just you fat but back in 2023.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

pfft dude you can't travel back as your past self your brain is already in your head it would explode

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

or your past self switch places with your future self.

As someone that struggles to get calories this is more inspirational than you'd think

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 24 points 4 days ago (3 children)

I'm so jealous of people who have to hit minimums. I have the worst time controlling my intake.

[–] nyctre@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

It's feeling bad after you eat because you ate too much vs feeling bad while you eat because you're forcing yourself to eat. Neither extreme is fun, I can promise you that.

[–] undeffeined@lemmy.ml 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Intermittent fasting is a good tool to help take in calories. Of course this assumes you're consuming mostly whole foods. If you eat a lot of higly processed food you can still ingest way too many calories, even with a small eating window

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Since January, I have stopped consuming any calories other than what comes in my non-sweetened tea until lunch time. You wouldn't believe how my stomach bothers me while waiting!

[–] undeffeined@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Still bothers you and it's been so long? Damn... I've been doing it for a month and I'm already used it.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I wake up with fairly severe nausea every day and it lasts until I eat something.

[–] undeffeined@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How close to bedtime do you eat? I eat milk curd (21g of protein) mixed with protein powder (42g) around 1h before going to sleep and i wake up fine.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

We usually eat at 7:30, though I tend to snack afterwards. It's very confusing for sure.

[–] undeffeined@lemmy.ml 1 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Sounds like Intermittent fasting is not a tool for you, there are other avenues to weight loss. The core is being in caloric deficit, how much and how long will depend on the individual. Hope you can find a solution for weightloss journey. If you want to discuss some ideas feel free, its somthing I'm very interested in and currently on my own journey

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

It's really the only place where I have sufficient willpower to exert an influence.

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Drink a protein shake or something in the morning?

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

That's what I use to do but stopped doing in order to lose weight.

[–] howrar@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago

The only upside is that others look at you and think you're healthy. I don't think eating more than your body wants is any easier than eating less.

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

is it valid to be jealous of someone else's problems?

for me losing weight is a nightmare. definitely have an eating disorder, why couldn't it be the eating disorder that makes me skinny?!??

[–] Ging@anarchist.nexus 5 points 3 days ago

I don't know what valid means in this context, but everyone is fighting their own conflicting battles.

I think it's natural to desire easier problems in times of struggle, but to perceive others' struggles as preferable is a means of avoidance rather than confronting and adequately reconciling the root or core cause(s). 2¢

he lost his watch.

@The_Picard_Maneuver@piefed.world

Why did you have to go and make this personal?

...Now where did the rest of those donuts go?

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 days ago

Actually, dude in 2025 looks like a small-time mob-boss, way cooler.

[–] Sibbo@sopuli.xyz 11 points 4 days ago (2 children)

How did the skin colour change?

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 57 points 4 days ago (2 children)

we brown people get darker during summertime

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 64 points 4 days ago (3 children)

That makes no sense, there's more light during summer, you should get lighter not darker.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 47 points 4 days ago (1 children)
[–] AtariDump@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Right you are, Ken.

[–] DarthFreyr@lemmy.world 23 points 4 days ago (1 children)

There's more light during the summer because it all leaves the people, duh.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 14 points 4 days ago

Leaves don’t leave until fall.

[–] andrewta@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

I actually thought you were serious for a moment

[–] KazuyaDarklight@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Pretty starkly different light between the two shots, and seasonal tone differences.

dude is sticking his gut out and still looks better
